  1. i have experianced a cheapo 10 inch. expensive 10 inch. expensive 12". 2 expensive 12" running off 1000W rms :D .

the 12 i have atm is damn good but i dont need it. i find a 10 to be good enuf for my needs. i just want abit more of the frequency range.

the loudness is not what was making me deaf, just the low low frequency.

once i tried to make a vid of my system on a vid cam and it was so bassy that all the cam captured was distortion and it even made the vid **** up abit...

i wont b changing it till i firstly get a stivo(end of march - family financial issues). secondly till i put the current system into the stivo.(prob 2 months after buying the stivo). so i stil have a while to go.

  2. its possible but personally i wouldnt. i dont care about the sound in the bak, if the passengers dont like it they can buy me splits. :D

i only pu speakers in the bak to make it sound abit better for the front and also to provide fill for a 10" woofer. i have a 12 atm in a diff car and it was making me deaf. so im gonna downsize. boy did it pump tho.

  3. a 2 way speaker has the normal 'woofer' membrain and then it has a tweeter in the middle. so it pretty much has 2 speakers.

3 way has 2 tweeters as well as the woofer part.

it gives u much better sound quality as there are extra 'speakers' playing the high pitched sounds.

the best way to go would b to get splits and have the tweeters sitting as close to ear hight as possible. that way u have the best sound. most ppl have them sitting on the dash or next to the rear view mirror on the door. some ppl go to extremes and attach them to the pillar at ear level.

  4. <rollin>, after posting that i was thinking ofgetting a lightweight flywheel i went to my mates(hes a mecahinc) and he said that it would make the car rev quiker, but it may make it idle like ****, unless u got the engine balanced(which costs a **** load).

so the trd fly wheel weighs 7.5lb... do u kno how much the normal one weighs?

can u post a link to the site where u got that info for me mate?

  5. acctually noone has it and it costs over $600.

i think someone baught one but it didnt fit or sumthing which i dont understand cos its a muffler, pretty easy to install in which ever way u wnat.

neways ill post a site comparing alot of diff mufflers when i get home form work.

  6. damn! at that price it may even be worth stealing them

that really sux. but thats what happens when they fit a good xhaust from factory, u have to spend big to get a better result.

how much is the trd muffler on its own?

also do u think it would b worth it to just change the extractors and leave the rest stock?

  7. BTW lucio_libre, ask them what they can do to lower the noise in cabin. i kno that good xhaust shops can put in resonators which lower the noise level in the cabin significantly. when i was inquiring for an exhaust in my vectra they where gonna fit it with a 30" long (not wide) resonator.

  8. Ilivfor6, i warned peekay to not go too big when getting the xhaust. he was orignially planning to go bigger.

changing ur muffler wont do much. but u will loose a few newtons. but u alsways do when changing the xhaust(but power increases). UNLESS u change to better exractors. then ull gain power and newtons.

i think there is no point changing the xhaust unless u get the trd full system. it costs like 1.5grand but its engeneereed to be an improvement. the stivo has a damn good xhaust from factory(2 inch) so theres no point changing it to any brand as any bigger would loose torque.

  9. WELCOME!

i agree that the new rolla has much less feed back, but all new cars are like that. its cos of driving aids such as abs and power steering. coming from an old without abs and powersteering will take a while to get used to it but u just have to be more sensative. the seating position dosnt help either.
