  1. hi guys, i was in the zr6 yesterday and i had the aircon on under 18 degrees (LO) on full fan, because it was 37 degrees outside...anyway i noticed that for less than 10 seconds the aircon temperature display started playing up. the display was flickering from LO to 18 degrees. the temperature was the only thing flickering, the fan speed stayed the same. this is the first time that this has happned. i thought i should bring this up because i have never seen this happen before and i would just like to know if anybody has had this problem before.......cheers

  2. i had the same problem took it back to toyota but had one of the guys tell me they only clear coated the major surfaces ( i thought it was a major surface), after a little talking some more with my dealer he said he'd call someone to respray at no charge. all was good except you can kinda see the paint doesnt insactly match. but, no more flaking so i dont know if this helps but definately go down n give it a shot

thanks, i reckon we will just take it back and hope they will respray it for no charge (maybe under warranty). thankyou everyone for your help!.....cheers!

  3. stuff like that only happens if theres a stone chip and the clearcoat starts flaking away. if it was inconsistency in the finish, there'd be more of it.

judging by the cracks in the clearcoat in the second pic, i think you should take better care of your car!

i think it might be stone chips as there are heaps of stone chips on the bonnet from driving on the freeway and also to melbourne and back (from sydney) a few times.

and yeah, the 2nd pic is pretty bad but as i said it was from going up the driveway. one time we had 5 people in the car and because the car is lowered and has 19's it scrubs (the bumper and exhaust pipe) if you do not go on an angle up the driveway.....has not happened again (learnt the hard way!)

Unless you caused it, that should be covered under warranty. Definitely take it back and push for something to be done to fix it

i will take it back a.s.a.p before it starts peeling more.

The bumper scratches look like the plastic has been stressed or bent...has it had a slight bump in the front?

Sorry mate, but without actually seeing it in person (looking at the photos) it does look as though the damage was not a manufacturing defect. I'd be surprised if Toyota fixed this... On the up side, it's only a couple hundred dollars to respray the bumper...

i will try and see if they will fix it under warranty....but now that i realise that it could be stone chips that have made it peel, i doubt they will fix it under warranty.

    cheers

  5. hey guys, my parents aurion's front bumper clear layer is peeling in a 4 places that i can see. 3 are small but there is one which is next to the number plate (30cm away) which is really noticable, and also one that is on the side of the front bumper which is pretty big too. i am really picky so which is why it bothers me! i have not used any chemicals on the car apart from just normal soap...so i do not know why it would peel.

does anyone else have this problem? and should i take it back to toyota to fix?

here are some pics of the peeling....

shows 2 small partsand 1 big part that are peeling....

    thanks in advance!

  6. That is normal for HID, like DJKOR said it has something to do with the power supply, but I won't delve into it. My friend has an Accord fitted with HIDs OEM and that is completely normal
hi guys, when i start the aurion the headlights dont flicker but they do dim for 1 sec while it is starting and then go back to normal brighness....does everyone elses aurions do this too???....cheers and thanks in advance!

thats prob the HIDs warming up..the need time to warm up

Most cars will do this with halogen bulbs as well. Do you pay attention to everything else in thhe car that is powered? Notice the dash turns off, as does the stereo and fan. This is because the starter motor draws quite a bit of current and as a result, everything else tied to the battery doesn't get priority.

ah ha....now i understand! i thought it must have been a common problem because i know a few people with aurions and all do the ame thing....thanks for the help!, cheers

  7. hi guys, thanks 'Harvs73' for letting eveyone know bout this common problem. i have a ZR6 sportivo with a sunroof and a few months ago (maybe towards the end of the last year) we had this problem and there was a water leak in the top of the right drivers side visor as 'Harvs73' said but mine was a patch which was about (from memory: maybe 5cm by 5 or 6cm). it was a damp patch. we never got it checked out as since then it has never leaked again! i might go back to toyota and get them to take a look at it and get it fixed if there is a problem!

  8. Hey guys, my dad has been using this account till now but is not interested anymore. Anyway i was in my parents ZR6 and i played a song (Basstronics - I Love You Bass) and i had it up on full bass and on about level 35-40 (can't remember) and the rear spolier was shaking pretty badly so i had to turn it down because i couldnt handle the irritating noise.

Is there any thing i can do to stop it from vibrating as much?

    Cheers, Chris

  9. The dash rattles are a known issue due to faulty clips that hold the various pieces together. Toyota released a fix for it, but it wasn't a recall.

Talk to your Toyota service dept and they should be able to source and install the kit for you under warranty.

ok, i think i will. the rattles arent that bad but they are annoying

  10. Your missing the point....same powerful engine, same gearbox, AWD

    :D

I'm doing some PhotoShops tonight to lower it and a few other little exterior mods.

this has nothing to do with this topic but it has something to do with this post. 'apg39', you said that you are doing photoshopping, do you know how to crop a circle out of a pic? thanks

  11. As much as I'm not a fan of the style the the Avalon has going with it, the exterior sure has some pimping potential. The cruiser in the second photo is hot; so much so that I would actually drive one like that (minus the cop lights and decals):

    equally impressive as the avalon...

actually it looks good when they are done up.
