  1. ummmm my Chip does not seem to be working at the moment. :( ....I have to wait till the holiday season is over before I can get it checked out. Will get the timing adjustment on it done at the same time.

will let you know how I go.......... B)

  2. Observations from a moving vehicle I drove friends 323 the other day as she was getting sleepy, I noticed that other drivers went right up the back side of it and acted a lot pushier than when I drive the Camry around.

I had the same experience when I drove my mums Corolla and my previous car a Golf. I can drive 10k under the speed limit and no one seems to attack where as drive at the speed limit in other cars and they are up your butt

Anyone else notice that they are treated different in certain cars?

  3. Sure I think we can all make a difference by the little things, treat others as we wish to be treated.

its the basis of all religions really.....anyway too heavy.

Or as Bill and Ted said "be excellent to everybody” :P

  4. hay guys,

Im looking at getting a CAI done as well.. what type of places would i look for to do it? Apparently coz the camry ATI sensor or watever is attached to the air filter, it doesnt work like a plug and play device with the filter or something.. Im a bit lost hay.. Any one got any ideas? Im brisbane based.

    THanx

I got mine done at a place that does performance Mitsubishi stuff. A great place for a lead is a Place Called Hondacare in Jindalee, they do a great service but they might have a lead for performance parts. Otherwise probably anywhere that does WRX things would have the ability to make one up. The Corolla boys might have a good lead on places have a scan around in that section. ;)

  5. My thoughts on oil ....

    1) The Toyota oil is made by ALMC (a combination BP and Caltex) of which is in Brisbane , they make a lot of oils to specification like Valvoline, BP, Caltex...... most oils are made there to the manufacturing specs. :)

    2) using non Toyota oil could void your warranty. Honda uses this trick, they can test it for spectrum in a lab. There are many S2000 owners with blown up engines (5-6 in Brisbane due to a H issue. None of them seem to be replaced on warranty, any excuse, a track day, wrong oil ...... :(

    just my thoughts.... B)

  6. Yo Barry

    This will tell you

I have my own tyre horror story... I upgraded to 18" wheels and have Faulkan tyres. My wheel was shaking so I took it to reputable place (unlike where I bought the wheels) and they balanced them. The wheel shake was worse than ever. I drove 600 kms down south as friends were over. The wheel was vibrating like something out of a blue movie :P

Anyway took it back to BJ yesterday and the inserts from the guys who put the wheels on were not put on correctly. Buy cheap buy twice.

My advise on tyres is stick to the best Yokohamas you care to spend The Original Michelins on the sports models was not so flash in the wet and was also picked up in the wheels safety comparison. B)

  7. hey,

just wondering whether a K&N panel filter for a V6 camry sportivo will make any difference at all? and how much it costs.

    Hi Kelvin

It will be about $110 and give you about 2% gain in power approx. The added benefit is that it will save you money in the long run as you never need to buy another filter just service it yourself ;) .

I have CAI (cold air induction) which gives about 7-10% more power. But that is another step in the process depends on what your aim is
