Hi Guys,
Long time no post, I know. Been extremely busy with that horrible thing called life...
Anyhow, heres the issue. 12 months ago I bought a set of Pirelli Dragons for my Aurion, loved them entirely fore the first 8 months or so and then lost my trust in them when the drivers side front developed blistering in the sidewall. I replaced that tyre and moved it to the back, about a month later, travelling down the F3 I had just aired up (they were down on air about 1psi, but it was a cold day too) the tyres at the twin servos and checked them over (used my own pressure guage too), left the servo and hit 110 on the freeway, about 5 minutes later the drivers front (same one again!) decided it didn't want its inner sidewall anymore... I managed to pull the car over safely (it was amazingly, still smooth to drive)
At that time, I replaced the two front tyres with a pair of cheapo bridgestones (couldn't afford anything fancy, sadly), now about a week ago I had the same issue again, the inner sidewall seperated from the tyre at 110 on the highway. I'm not sure if this is just coincidence, but I'm a little concerned that the tyre on the drivers front has always been the one experiencing these failures, I don't drive like a lunatic, in fact, this last 5 months or so has been mostly country driving (avoiding potholes etc)
Now I can rule out an alignment issue, as the car has been regularly aligned as well as aligned each time I replaced tyres, the tyres have also been fitted by different tyre stores and each inspect the rim each time (different rims involved in all incidents though)
Could this still be a driving style issue? bad luck? mechanical issue that hasn't been picked up? I really don't feel safe driving the aurion at highway speeds at the moment so any advice would be appreciated.
Im in a similar boat to you.My front passenger tyre always drops about 5psi compared to the rest when i check my tyres.Ive rotated them twice and it only seem like my front passenger tyre is the one loosing pressure. It Doesnt bother me as much as i check them every second refill at the servo.Cant figure it out.

Hey guys,
Does any body know if there is an aftermarket trunk release for the zre sedans?
Its kinda bugging me bcoz there is no handle on the trunk,so if its unlocked you still need to use the key or the lever inside next to the drivers seat to open the trunk.Im not sure about the hatchbacks though

The front doors are 6.5" and for the rears they are 6x9".
I had mine pro installed but from what i was told it was a pretty easy fit.both front and back are behind the factory grill n stuff even with mdf spacers

Spotted BG_Pete this morning around eastwood.Tail lights looking sweet

Spotted a white zre sedan with white rims and lowered at UWS Kingswood campus.looked sweet.

No problemo.
Re the headlights, I think they are custom black headlights, you can DIY.
See these threads here
- i just checked the thread, seems many of the links are down.. I swear there is another thread re black headlight mod here somewhere... do a search for them.
Similar idea diff model tho here
And here
The black headlights in the opening post are standard on the Corolla XRS in the US. To get a similar effect, you'd have to open them up and DIY. =)
Kenneth is right. You need to DIY.Ive done it to my spare set of lights but i havent started my retrofit on them so they wont be on the car for awhile cos im still gathering info on retrofitting and dont i dont have much spare time atm.

Cheers mate. From what i remember the kit was about $1000 painted and delivered.its abs plastic so it doesnt feel cheap n flimsy. They do install but i decided to install it myself which saved me abit.
$1000 sounds good. Waiting on the email that I sent them.
So Wheels/Tyres + Kit is about $2500 all up which is damn good, as I was expecting to spend around 3k to 3.5k
I guess after Kits and Tyres are done I just need to get foggies which is cheap anyway.
Phat_azn, did you lower car at all? As I was considering some TRD springs, as I heard they provide a decent drop and at the same time it allows for a good level of ride comfort.
Once again mate, thanks for your help. I am currently using your car to serve as an inspiration for my own car lo. Too bad those TRD rims are a tad pricey for me lol
Which part of Sydney are you in mate? If your in the same suburb as me I will keep a look out for your Rolla.
I live around the Liverpool/Cabramatta area.
No dramas at all, glad to help.
Im lowered on Eibach prokit springs like Dutchie.I didnt look too much in the TRD springs because at the time i was looking you had to import them.
Im in the Merrylands/Granville area but i hardly trek out that way even though im Asian.lol

phat_azn is running eibachs but his is the sedan model.
Yep im running them.Correct me if im wrong but they should fit the hatch aswell.
Drop is just over an inch and comfort is really good unless you go bigger rims which i did (18's) so bye bye ride comfort.
Im running on stock shocks and they are still going strong.SB is looking for replacement shocks for me as i want some comfort back.

spotted GTL05T last night with his bright as foggies on Parra rd going towards the city.

If it is anything like the American corolla than it will be Surface Mount PLCC-2 SMT LEDs.
I found this but its not a DIY guide though. http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/showthread.php?t=292956
If the hatch is like the sedan then you need to remove the side trim near the head unit, you then have to pull the top cover of the dials towards you as they are just clips, then there are just a few screws holding the cluster in.
