  1. I wished it was the fan then it would be easy to fix. I'm lost with this problem. I'm going to get it to a mechanic. Hopefully they can diagnose the problem.
  2. Not sure if it's the idling control valve. Looks like when i press on the brakes, the high pitch sound will come on. Yesterday was bad as it came on and off frequently, even when the car idling and without pressing the brake pedal. Managed to listen with the bonnet opened. It's coming around the mid section of the engine but don't know where. Could be the belt or even something else Managed to to record it using mobile phone. It says i'm not permitted to attach this file. Is there a way to do it? The recording is quite noisy due to engine running but in the background you will hear a high pitch sound. That high pitch is the problem. Hope you all can help.
  3. Could it just be the fan turning on? thats what it sounds like to me.... It's definitely not a knock or squeak or noise that increases with engine speed. It's a strange sounding noise like 'Woooooooot wooooot woooot'. It's not very loud but definitely can hear it inside the car and also if I'm standing in front of it. It doesn't happen while the car is moving...only when stationary. When stop at the traffic lights (foot on brake) and sometimes just park and no brake, the sound appears. Maybe it could be a belt problem but mechanic can't find what the cause. Let me try investigate further.
  4. Hi All I've been searching on this forum regarding the issue I'm having with the car but can't seem to find any. Great if you all could give me some help on it. As the Topic Title says conquest 05. The issue is everytime the car comes to a halt at lights or anywhere or sometimes just idling in the driveway, there is a strange sound coming from the engine bay. Sounds like 'wooooooooot woooooot'. It last for few seconds and then goes away after I drive and then back when the car stops. Initially i thought it was the air-con but turning it off didn't solve the problem. Now I'm lost as to what the problem is. Dealer can't seem to find what the problem is so your help would be much aapreciated.
