When one gets coilovers installed, what does one tell their insurance company?
Do they say their car has been lowered or that it just has new suspension, so say nothing?
-
Wth is that..?
Now I see it, it's a giraffe in a boat,yeah?
Close, but incorrect. No show.
-
Name it, and I'll show it.
-
As i recall the 90000km service was about $690 at a Toyota Dealership.
-
To be certain, take it to a tyre specialists and they will give you a firm answer..

After you mount the wheel (while the car is still jacked up) push the wheel around and notice if the bolts move around in the lug hole, if they don't all is good.
All wheel hub centric rings, have that little protrusion, so that the hub centric ring does not slide into the wheel
(ie. they sit on the wheel if the wheel is placed on the ground with the back facing up), therefore will be held in position.
BTW, since you are here, what are your opinions of the D2 Coilovers (other than the seizing problem) are they easy to install and adjust?
-
The rings are supposed to sit in the wheel, and sort of just be stuck in there. When you test fitted it on the hub, was there any movement? If no movement then it's okay.

No need to remove the trim. Just remove the small hatch which is on the inside. Put your arm in there, you will sense two clips. Push them towards each other while pushing the assembly out at the same time. Then, from the outside, just disconnect the connector from the assembly and replace with the new one.
Good luck! :)
I've tried this method, and the assembly does unclip, but will not come out due to the Corolla Horizontal garnish. Will try again at a later date.
I tried again. The licence plate assembly will not fit through that small opening under the Corolla Garnish. I give up for now. Will definitely need to remove the whole plastic backing on the door, and then remove Corolla garnish, and then remove the light assembly.

ooh shiny,is that your doing Thomas?
I need to see wheels, please please
Are you sure you want to see the wheels?
Ha Ha

How long do they give you to get to the pits? Going to measure a couple of ZRE's at work,i'm curious too..
Thomas are those 225's on the Kappas?
Yep, 225/45R17, so this car would be sitting just slightly higher than 'completely' stock Corolla with 205/55R16.
So the 'stock' measurements would be:
- ground to wheel arch would be 2.54mm shorter
-centre of centre cap to wheel arch would be 1.27mm shorter

Pedders Bankstown but the manager I dealt with is no longer there unfortunately...
How was the service, did you get to watch the complete install?

Centre of centre cap to top of the wheel arch.
Front: 370mm
Rear: 406mm

I just did a quick google and every site tells me that it has 430KW at the front wheels.
That's wrong, I saw three Aurions side by side on a dyno, and it was reading 488.8KW

From the ground to the top of the wheel arch.

Which shop did you go to?
Vick: Still want coilovers?
-
Could the struts have failed, and not performing the way they are supposed to?
-
-
Are the coilovers smaller in diameter than the stock spring and struts? (Clears 19x8 +45 easily?)
If one knows how to install normal struts, would that same person find installing a set of coilovers just as easy?
Adamsy, how long did it take you to install your set?
Thanks.
