OK, fitted the towbar on the weekend..... simple task with the instructions by my side. The only relatively tricky bit is cutting the left and rear stoneguards at the rear of the car to fit around the new emergency towing points on the towbar. But the instructions came with the to-scale cutting templates for this, so it wasn't overly difficult. We also had to cut a fairly large portion out of the rear plastic lower bumper panel, as the towbar sits outside of the profile of this once fitted, as well as not lining up with some of the new pre-drilled screw/anchor holes on the towbar. Toyota recommends a replacement plastic bumper which is cut to size which I will be ordering soon, as we have done a temporary job of anchoring the underside of the panel to the towbar (wire coathanger anyone B) ). I can post the part number here if needed? The towbar fitting took around 40 mins.... getting the cutout right with the panel took another half an hour or so. With the replacement panel you'd be looking at around 45-50 mins tops. Also, in terms of wiring the tow plug, you need to lift out the storage compartment at the rear left of the car.... the one with the two plastic screws at the bottom of it. The junctions are under there. All in all, definitely a two person job, but pretty darn simple. Now, I just needs to get me a trailer. Cheers :)

Picked the towbar up today - turns out it is a toyota genuine towbar, slightly used, but has come with all instructions and cutting templates, so it should be a relatively easy exercise to fit :)

Hi Everyone, I've managed to land a kluger towbar on ebay and am thinking of having a go at fitting it myself (with considerable help from my father-in-law). Basically I'm looking for any advice or tips from anyone who may have done the same thing. 2009 model klugar btw. Is this something that can be done by someone with a bit of knowledge, or is it best taken to a dealer and have them install? Not sure as yet if it's a hayman reece towbar or not, but the seller described it as a 2008 kluger towbar. Any tips would be appreciated :) Many thanks.

OK, seeing as no-one else has replied I'm guessing this isn't a standard perk that Toyota dealerships try and flog, which means I might save my hard earned and give it a miss!

Hi Everyone, Just purchased a new Kluger, and the dealership is trying to flog me a membership to something called the Qu4ttro Club, which basically covers you for a whole range of minor damage. Has anyone ever heard of this club before/joined/been offered membership etc? Cost to join is $500 per three years I think.....
