  1. Hey guys, I'm looking for a good coil to suit my Corona with the 2S-C engine, it's the one that's built into dizzy. If you wana send the whole dizzy then that's fine. If you're in Bunbury or south of there I can remove it myself. :D I also wouldn't say no to a good carby, the accelerator pump in mine is pretty dead and she struggles on cold starts. A friend might be interested in a whole car (ST141 'rona) too. I'm certainly not looking at paying premium prices, these cars aren't worth much at all, especially mine. Just looking for some good cheap used parts. Thanks Hayden
  2. I live in a country area, down here we get lots of tourists. Between the different towns there's at least 30kms of winding roads lined with trees with often only 1 or 2 overtaking lanes. The tourists sit on about 40-50kms in their crappy camper van, The limit on all the roads is 110... They very rarely pull over to let you over take, a few times I've just sat there with my finger on the horn until they pull over (and I have the worlds loudest horn). Another one is when people on the single lane roads(that's single lane as in the traffic coming both ways shares one lane) sit right in the middle of the road and don't move over when your coming the other way, had a few near misses with that one! When I was younger we had a communal ST141 Corona wagon that every one on the farm used, one of the workers modified the rear window washer to squirt water at tail gating cars, it was quite effective when some red food colouring was put in it! 3. 4AC pistons will be different to 4AF/FE pistons which will also be different to 4AGE pistons (which will also be different depending on which version of the 4AGE it is) which will be different to 4AGZE pistons (apparently) which will be different to 20V pistons. In short, they are essentially all different. And 4AC pistons probably won't be much use for a crossflow engine anyway (the valve-cuts are for a counter-flow engine obviously) Okay, thanks. The valve cuts don't matter too much as the engine in question from a 1957 Peugeot 403 that has a whopping 7:1 compression ratio, the valves don't get anywhere near the piston (infact the "rev limiter" is when the valves float), depends on the dome of the piston though I guess. Its a hemi (crossflow) engine with the valves about 20 degrees apart. I was thinking 4A-C and 4A-FE pistons cause their pretty cheap and easy to get and I don't really need anything special, this thing only does 6000rpm an makes just over 60hp. Thanks Hayden
  4. Hi guys I'm looking into using some pistons from a 4A engine in a non Toyota engine (you'l never guess) and I need to find some dimensions, so if anyone happens to know the dimensions or have a piston lying around could someone please tell me the crown hight from the centre of the gudgeon pin, the diameter of the gudgeon pin and the maximum width and thickness of the little end please? I'm looking at using 4A-C or 4A-FE pistons, I don't know of there's any difference between the different 4A pistons? (apart from the the 4A-ZE pistons obviously) Thanks Hayden
  5. Got the back door to open! Only the drivers door used to open and close, the problem is now the back door doesn't close, bring out the gaffa tape! You gotta love free cars :D . Thanks Hayden
  6. oh sorry, yeah its a 2s-c, my mistake. does anyone know about the tailshaft??? or does anyone in WA have one that i could buy???
  7. i have been given a st-141 corona wagon thats got a 2s-ge engine and i was wandering are these engines are very similar to 3s-ge engine??? i was thinking of putting a turbo on it, its got a carby so it would be fiarly easy and cheap. also road wothyness is not a problem as its registered as a fram car so i can do anything to it an it will still be registered( not that i will drive it on the road anyway, i live on a big farm so yeah) dont you love loopholes??? :D :D :D also the biggest problem is that i managed to snap the tail shaft snapped so does anyone know if the wagons have the same wheelbase as the sedans? or more to the point does anyone know if the tailshafts are the same? do auto an manual have the same tailshaft? another thing, the oringinal key was snaped off in the ignition and it dosnt have the central locking bit(yes you use a screwdriver as the key lol) and all the doors apart from the drivers one are locked and you cant open them. does anyone know how to "hotwire" the pickup thingy for the central locking so i can open the doors agian? thanks in advance hayden
