  1. I've had an ACR30 for 8 years, and it's always done this, whether the battery is new or old.  One thing I've noticed is that even if the door lights are switched to not turn on when the doors are open, leaving a door not fully closed will run the battery flat.

  2. Hi y'all.

Bought an in-dash head unit which'll take a reversing camera input and will play dvd's. However, I need to connect it to a reversing wire and a break wire, presumably from somewhere behind the dash. I'm installing it in a 2000 Tarago - ACR30.

Can anyone advise me where they are, or how to find them?

    'Twould be much appreciated.

  3. Angel gear is the gear that only an angel can save you if things like your brakes fail. --> Neutral. Nothing is slowing the car down for you.

Gears are funny things... you can change out of them, and back in to them.

I always thought it was called angel gear because it's quiet, and the car accelerates downhill without using fuel, as if by divine intervention.

  4. While I agree with the above post, I use angel gear (these days in my automatic) when I specifically don't want engine breaking, ie, if when coasting downhill the engine would be slowing me more than I wish to be slowed.

  5. Hi mate

I would be first asking (Noisy) as in HOW?

    Tapping, Knocking?

Bit hard unless we know what sort of oise you have ...

    Cheers

    Hi

sounds tappety, almost like the noise an old diesel engine would make, except itsa petrol.

    Steviev

I had that in mine from when I bought it with about 120,000 km on the clock. 250 mL of methylated spirits in the crankcase with the engine running for 5 minutes before the oil change fixed it.

  6. Brought a 1992 GLX Tarago few months back. just wondering how far under the E does the needle go on the fuel gauge or how many km's are you supposed to get when the fuel light goes on? everytime it starts to come on we fill up.

When you fill up, note total litres you put in, and distance since last fill. This gives you distance/litre for your car/petrol type/driving style/driving conditons.

Now, look up petrol tank size in your manual. Difference between that and the amount you're putting in is the size of your reserve in litres. Multiply by your distance/litre figure, and you have your reserve's range.

I'm sure he's worked it out in the last year....

  8. I've got a similar problem. It sounds like bearings at the left end of the engine as you're looking at it from the front of the car, where the belts around the wheels (that drive the aircon etc ?) are. Only under load, eg, when in drive with the car stationary or almost stationary. Some research suggests the Supplemental Accessory Driveshaft problem, but I've only found references to this on the previous (mid-engine mounted) generation Tarago.

    Any ideas anyone?
