  1. yup, im planning to get it replaced next week. It was always on the back of my mind whilst driving up Gold Coast and back. Car made it back alive :D plus a hefty speeding fine (not me!)
  2. hey jmacca, just wondering what globe types did you use? cos right now i have the same problem with my gen4 camry.\ cheers
  3. guys, i took it back to K mart this arvo, they redid the wheel alignments. But, steering wheel still vibrates when braking at 100km/h + an hour. Its fine less than 80km/h. Haha, I agree.. it was kinda last minute to replace tires. And Kmart Tire & Auto service @ knox was right next door to where i live so just popped by over there. Do you think i should go get the disc brakes machined? Or what could be the problem. THanks in Advance guys.
  4. i think they are pretty decent ones, good year regatas or something? I had toyo ones on before, but curb bashed it accidently so had a lump on the side wall of the tire. So it'll def be the K mart;s fault for stuffing up the balance right?
  5. Hey guys, i just got two new front tires for my gen4 camry on sunday @ Kmart tire& auto services. They did the wheel alignment balance etc, but i've noticed that when i travel at 100km/h the steering wheel vibrates a bit, also i've noticed when i brake at 100km/h the steering wheel vibrates a lot more vigorously. At speeds of 80km/h it doesn't shake. Should i take it back to Kmart, get them to redo the balance/testing? I had my brakes serviced 2 months ago, they changed the pads and serviced the calipers. Thanks for your help in advance!! Cheers,
  6. i unscrewed the top black cover and just peaked inside, i noticed a bit of cracking, but no fraying. is that alright? or get changed immediately
  7. Hey guys, I was wondering how do i inspect the drive belt / timing belt ( are they the same thing), the mechanics said its gonna cost around $350 to check it or something. because my camry 2001 v6, its approaching 180k kms, plus going on a road trip to brisbane from melb , don't want it to stuff up on me. cheers!
  8. the rocker switch flicks back to open when its open and also when its closed. i guess all i can do is lock the doors before putting the key into the ignition. SupaTouring: Would it be better to flush the brake fluid before i put new ones in, or should i just top it up. another thing, is it natural for LPG runned engines to make a slight booming/rattle noise coming from the back end of the car? or do you think it might be the exhaust system? I'll have a peak underneath the car tomorrow to see if there are any holes in the exhaust.
  9. thanks for the tips supertouring, i'll check it out tomorrow morning. um.. i'm unable to lock the car with the rocker switch whilst the key is in the ignition. Its only when i take the key out i can lock the car. where about is the door switch located? thanks
  10. Hi all, I just recently bought a camry. whilst driving my toyota camry 3.0 v6 (2001), the hand brake light comes up, i am positive i did not have the hand brake on. Then after a while the light disappears and then lights up again by itself. Should i take it to mechanics to check it out or such or i can DIY fix it :) Also, i've noticed the door light does not turn on when i open the door nor does it show up on the dash board plus, the seat belt indicator lights off although i don't have my seat belt on :( and, there are some rattling when driving near the front passenger seat. Could something came lose? aaah another thing, when i have the key in the ignition, i cannot lock the car (using the lock button or pullin on the lock/unlock slidy thing), but when i take the key out, i can unlock the car using the lock button on the drivers seat..) Seems like i bought a problem car haha..
