I have a recall affected Yaris (seat belt pre-tensioner). I never got a recall letter so when I had reason to call in for a small tweak the other day I asked what was happening. Told them I was affected and they fixed the seat belt pre-tensioner business while they had the car in the workshop. The car popped up on their computer as one affected so they do have a record of which cars are needing the work done. If anyone is worried you could always pre-empt Toyota by pointedly booking your car in for the update, there shouldn't be any cost to have the update done I reckon rather than wait for a letter which could take ages to arrive, or so said the service bloke I spoke with said.
