Hi guys i really need some help. I have a Toyota Corolla SECA AE92 - With the 4A-FC Engine in it. For a while now it has been playing up, it has a really erratic idle it sounds like its missing a beat constantly and when its driven it pings a lot. There is a chance that the fuel could be the cause of the pinging. But ill get to that part later, i just really want to know how to fix this problem. I have looked over the engine and There is a small valve (Called the: BVSV - Bimetal Vacuum Switching Valve) underneath the distributor which we found to be broken, we replaced it and the engine when its started runs pretty smooth, once the engine gets to normal operating temp it runs really erratically and has tons of trouble decelerating the RPM. When you watch the Tacho, the needle is not steady, its going up and down and will only stay still when the engine is first started. The only problems that occur while driving is the pinging sound, other than that there is nothing wrong. PLEASE HELP ME GUYS!! :(

haha nice :D it has about 100, 000Kms on it. mum didnt drive it that much so its great. it needs a new carby, getting a 32/36 weber for it. haha yep for sure :P

not too sure.. probs new rims or something.. but atm i have no idea what to do.. or if im going to keep it <_< it seems to be quite quick when you push it.. my parents never did.. but when i do it seems to move so thats a start lol nahh thats ok mate

Hey guys. Im pretty new here. this is probably my second post on this forum lol. ;) Just recently got my mums car handed down to me as my first car. Its pretty basic really, no mods or anything at this stage. Its the AE92 Carby model. Im pretty sure that they are underpowered lol, but hey good for a first car am i right? Here is a few pictures. The Sun shield at the back is going, as im going to get tinted windows, same with the mud flaps. The rims are damaged due to my dad driving and hitting a few curbs at stages grr. Ohh well im going to get some new ones. If anyone has any ideas of what i should do, please reply.
