Well I've been given a 2L diesel and 5 speed box from a toyoace which I'm going to transplant. Out of interest what box is in yours and did they do anything with the brakes. May know who has a badge will check it out this week not sure what box as yet but believe it is from a 1990 vehicle. brakes are quite good actually, just had all new wheel cylinders put thru it before i got it but wouldn't mind converting to discs further down the track but they are definetly quite adequate at the moment but i am pretty sedate these days :P getting the carby on the 3y rebuilt this week in the hope it will cut down the fuel usage as it seems to be going thru it in it's present state. want to take it out and actually use it as intended ... look for ward to hearing about the badge.... thanks muchly!

just picked up a 76 hi-ace van with a 3y and 5 speed in it.. goes well but the 45 litre tank doesnt last long :P they are hard to find bits for .. looking for a grill badge and mine will be prett much 100 complete then...

Hi ] yet to work out what variant mine is. 4y head on a 3y block hey, i have a lot to learn in toyota land :P i usually play with pommy stuff.

going to do a rolling restore on the old girl. first task will be chasing replacement rubbers for the doors, front and side. it has been fitted with a 3Y and 5 speed box so it gets along nicely. got it on the hoist at the moment getting a wheel cylinder or two and the master cylinder replaced. all in all a tidy unit for it's age and am looking forward to using it.
