  1. Thanks gents.

Dwee, man you have a good memory. The baby is still baking with 1 month left, hence the Corolla. I couldn't have my baby driving around in my wife's old Ford Laser which is loves dearly but is falling apart.

I hadn't noticed anything weird about the drive by wire, if anything it was more sensitive than my Aurion. I'm glad there is nothing to recall.

Is there a way to make the mirrors auto fold when the car is off?

I find it odd that they would add power folding mirrors but not auto headlights.

  2. Hey people,

It has been a while between posts. Some of you might know me form the Aurion forums.

I'm proud to say I'm now a Corolla owner as well as the Aurion. Just purchased a '09 MY10 Corolla Ascent from a Dealer in Blacktown.

    It is/has:

    56,000ks on the clock

    White

No damage bar very minor door edge chips

    Full service logs

    Hubcaps (unfortunately)

    Still under factory warranty

    new tyres

I picked it up for $13,800. No trade in, no finance. Is that a good price?

Can anyone point me in the right direction as to what I can check to be replaced under warranty? I have approx. 2 months of factory warranty left and I want to squeeze it for what it is worth.

Even if there are no immediate problems I prefer getting unofficial recall items replaced before the warranty is out.

  3. i quite like the look of the stivos...something a little diff around the ***** end looks good imo with the body kits n things

it's still a great value sedan with that engine n tranny me thinks....i hope sales pickup with this one so we all maintain some sort a choice in large car segment in oz without breaking the bank....nissans entry into motorsport next year will add some excitement around the place

    cheers cam

Not many people like the new look Aurion Sportivo, I award you on your nonconformity. I personally hope the Sportivo sales die a quick death.

  4. What price range should I be looking at these days:

    http://www.ebay.com....=item1c229533bf

Found that. Can someone source these for a better price else where?

That one comes to over $107 delivered. Searching on eBay there is another listing in Australia which come to $84 delivered.

Did you search for FK20HR11 or something else?

Yea I did, can you please link me to the website.

  5. Guys I'm to work, but for future reference, I usually order from Rockauto.com, the int shipping is amazingly cheap and there prices are astronomically cheaper than AU and other U.S sites. Just a hands up, RA dont supply after market sports parts and modified auto parts just OEM. They have probably the largest range, you may have to call Sprints or someone who can cross reference the parts so your absolutely sure to get the correct U.S to AU part.

    Cya

I just went into that website and they had over 5 other non OEM branded spark plugs listed for the 2grfe.

Are you affiliated with the site or just unconsciously incompetent at giving advice?

  6. As Vic pointed out, I have been slack updating this thread on what happened with my insurance.... so here goes.

The damage to the car has been fixed by Silverwater Smash and they did a supremo job. I cant fault it and they colour matched the plastic/metal better than factory.

The wheels could not be fixed without applying heat (GIO insurance policy not to repair wheels using heat) so I was paid out for the damage to that single wheel + tyre a total of $940. Yes, $940 for one wheel and one tyre.

The wheel and tyre damage are completely superficial so I am still using them on the car. I plan to fix the damaged wheel and spray all of them using 2pack but I am undecided on the colour as yet and I'm going to miss the chrome lip.

My wife is still pregers and she is now at 4 months. Not long now and I can actually use my family car as a family car. On that note, I need to replace my wifes car and I'm thinking of a Camry Hybrid as an option.

  7. Anyone else found that they are getting more mileage after replacing the spark plugs?

It has only been 2 or so weeks but this last tank has gone 80k over the point that it usually complains about being on empty.... And I havn't gone on any long drives.

I'm a little freaked out at this because if it is true then that means over the last 3 years I have wasted a hell of a lot of fuel.

  8. Had a chat with my local dealer service manager, he said they do NOT need to remove the intake manifold to get to the rear bank of plugs. The job should be around 2.5 hours, and was going to cost around $270.

I'm not calling the service manager a liar but why would it take 2.5 hours if this if they don't need to take it apart?

  9. I just did mine at 93,000k and they looked fine. Having looked at them I would have been comfortable with going until 120,000k but you don't know until the inspect them all.

It took me and my brother just less than 2 hours to replace them and that includes him dropping a bolt and searching for it for 20 minutes.

  10. Hay all

Im going to be investing into an toyota aurion in the next couple months. After i drove for the first time i fell in love with them. Snappy gear changes andvery nice V6 witch goes very well. Question is how much can u get out of an N/A aurion wat mods actually give u gains?Ive seen a fair few aurions of youtube do low 14 second 1/4 miles. are 13 sec quater miles achieavable or already have been done? Ive searched threw threads and seen mixed views on exhausts and intakes and ecus? Im just wanting facts and good guidence?

    Cheers Ricky

There is plenty of potential in the 2GR-FE its self but the biggest limitation/barrier you will face is the ECU.

No matter the changes you make the ECU will always adjust back to normal "fuel efficient" settings. If you want a tuner then the Aurion isn't for you.

The best bang for buck investment you can make with an Aurion is in handling.... Lowering, sway bars, rubber, etc....
