  2. hey guys, big thank you to you all for coming down on our Dyno Day!! Was really appreciated, and helps us keep our club alive and keep having these dyno days and other events (eg, ToyotaFest coming up!). Sorry i didnt get a chance to say hello to you all - i was pretty busy being "fan boy" for the day, being harassed by crown admirers, and keeping up my club duties..... Impressive outputs from those little 2ZZ's!! I too was quite shocked with that silvertop 20valve 4A-GE which *very nearly* pipped Dave for the <1800 NA title!!! 6 months ago and Dave would have been OWNED! P.S. it sure is something watching the little 2zz LITERALLY lift up out of the engine bay when that second cam profile comes to play!! oh - and i was happy with my sedate 128.6kW from the 100% stock 1UZ-FE :)
  3. for a little bit of history from last year's event......... around 45 cars entered, with just about every major model covered in the event. Everyone who entered had a good time, with a very relaxed atmosphere and a lot of cars brought out that are VERY rarely seen!!! There was even a mini featurette in Hot4's (or Fast Fours, cant remember) a few months back with some pics - expect a little more magazine coverage this year (HOPEFULLY).   4. The 2nd Annual ToyotaFest Car Show is all go!! Toymods car club is proud to present the 2nd annual Toyota Fest Car show. It will be held at Reading Cinema's on Parramatta Rd in Auburn on Sunday October 2nd 2005. Once again we are heading back to the original home of Capitol motors Toyota and all Toyota owners are welcome. As the second year of our Annual event Toymods wants to give as much notice as possible for what we hope will be a huge celebration of Toyota at it finest. To be eligible to enter the vehicle must be Toyota bodied, any engine and driveline combination is welcome. You DO NOT have to be a member of the Toymods Car Club to enter and we encourage other Toyota clubs to present club displays. Entry fee is $10 per vehicle to cover the costs of venue hire and Class Trophies. Spectators entry is free :) Trophy classes and eligibility: Best Original Classic - Best/Most Original vehicle Pre 1980 Best Modern Original - Best/Most Original vehicle available between 1981 and 1997 Retro Tech - Best modified Classic with a modern flavour Best Engineered - Car best engineered for its purpose WTF! Non-Members $50 - 2WD, $65 - 4WD. ************************* Thats right the 11th Bi Annual Toymods Dyno Day is scheduled for Sunday July 3rd 2005. (8.30am Start !) Dyno Day 11 will be held at SAS in Silverwater, the new home of Toymods Dyno Days. Dyno runs will still be conducted in "Shootout" mode on a 4WD Dyno Dynamics Chassis Dyno. This is the same software as used at Summernats and is the industry standard for Dyno Dynamics. The day is open to members and non members alike, all vehicles both Toyota and inferior - "I mean otherwise" - are more than welcome. Remember! ANY vehicle can compete but to be eligible for the Trophies the car MUST be TOYOTA powered. Each vehicle will receive ONE Run on the 4WD Dyno SAS. WE ARE STILL LOOKING FOR A SPONSOR FOR THIS EVENT! At a bare minimum both the block and head must be of Toyota origin. # Toymods Membership if due or new on the day must be paid BEFORE your dyno run # Only your FIRST Dyno Run counts towards the trophies. Should you wish to have a second run on the dyno you are more than welcome to do so. All are welcome to pay for a second run if time allows However Only the first run will be elegible for consideration. Time permitting Second Runs will be available at the end of the day. The Offical Judging team on the day will accept comment from each vehicle owner BEFORE the car is unstrapped from the Dyno. The Judges Decision regarding any possible re-run is Final. # The judges decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. No arguments will be tolerated with the Dyno Operators and any inappropriate behaviour will result in the offending competitor being asked to leave. CLASS SELECTION. The class eligibility for your vehicle is based on the presence of forced induction be it Turbo or Supercharger and the capacity of your engine. Since there is no way to determine an engine's internal modification capacity is based on the Original Factory capacity of the block used. There are no boost limits for the forced induction classes, the toymods car club does not handicap those people who have constructed an engine capable of supporting higher boost levels. There are also no restrictions on the type of fuel used on the day. Should you be running anything other than PUMP gas please advise the Dyno opperator PRIOR to your run. Should you have any further questions please feel free to contact the toymods board on board@toymods.org.au The Toymods car Club and SAS will not be responsible for any damage, no matter how, arising during testing/moving of the vehicles. The Toymods Car Club Encourages Responsible driving to and from all of its events.

I would really like to see a few more people from sydney come out and compete for that trophy - there is no way any of our 4A-GE's etc will be able to compete with you...... As well as this there is going to be some rather tought old school celicas, crowns, supras, some crazy conversion cars etc etc. Anyway, im just trying to promote a pretty good little club event - come along just for the BBQ if you want and have a chat/gawk.... we would never shun a person from just coming along to have a look! I hope to see some people there!

FYI - i have no beef with rollamods' comments, as i know the guy on a semi-personal level, it was just our attempt at bringing a little humour into these forums, maybe even some light hearted attitudes :) And for the record, rollamods IS ghey wif aids :P

  11. sorry to dig up an old thread, but this is a discussion i havent looked back on since posting. Yeah i rekon my post does sound pretty harsh, but if you have faith in your purchase, you have nothing to worry about and everything to be proud of. Sorry to those i offended :) Interesting that this clutch and flywheel combo fixes the much discussed notchy box syndrome you guys have. In response to Nikich's request, and just as an example that im not just a tool with nothing better to do as some of you think ;) Here are my cars and mods, ala rollamods style AE71 Corolla Sedan # 4age 100kW conversion # converted motor from FWD to RWD layout # modified water outlets to use FWD water pump # re-wired loom and removed redundant wires # T50 box from TE72 # Te72 tailshaft and T series live axle rear # "custom" thermofan # Kmac suspension (shocks/springs) # Electric Oil pressure guage # Lift pump, home-made surge tank and bosch 910 EFI pump # 4-1 mandrel bent headers with 2" press bent pipe This car was a $300 turdbox me and a friend bought as a runaround for when we busted our real cars, but it kinda took off when i bought the 4age for $100. Everything was done by me on my driveway except a wheel alignment (i was only 2mm off with my measurements tho!). The 4age is a great little engine for the car, since its so light its just zips around everywhere :) There is a turbo and manifold sitting next to me ready for use, but the $$$ need to be saved first and i need to fix my other car 1977 RA28 celica Liftback # koni red shocks # unknown LOWWW springs # whiteline swaybars and bushes # MA61 supra seats # simmons F90 15*7 wheels # Supra W58 gearbox and custom bellhousing # 18R-G twincam 8V # TRD copy 4-2-1 headers with 2" press bent exhaust # currently converting to EFI, rebuilding engine with forged pistons and some headwork, ready for a beefy T28/35 :D # full buildup from a bare shell The koni's really make a BIG improvement over using munroe or other family brand shocks - it never bottoms or anything. The ride is very stiff, not recommended for the comfort seekers, but it holds the road very well in most road conditions. There is a bit of an oversteer issue but that i belive is due to the different spring in the rear (harder). The 18R-G is a dinosaur of a motor, but it fits in perfectly with the era of the car and suits what i want from the car. All the EFI gear is factory atm, but will change over to something aftermarket once i make my mind up. I recommend an RA28 to anyone with a weekend passion for classic toyotas! It's how i got started :) AE101 Corolla Sedan # currently converting to 4A-GZE supercharged engine # E58 LSD gbox # Front mount IC # possible turbo conversion in there too This isnt my car, but a conversion i am doing for someone in my spare time. Its not too hard a swap as the supercharged engine comes from the same model car in japan, only i bought the front half as a "front cut" from Ichiban Imports and pulled everthing out to go into this guy's Aussie sedan. On top of this, i have wired up about 3-5 engine conversions in different stages of ccompletion, do all wiring myself, almost eveything mechanical i do myself too. I dont have a garage, only a carport and an uneven driveway. Anyway, i hope thats the answer you were after Nikich. I can go into further details with you if you like, best off asking via PM though.
  12. being a moderator on two of australia's biggest Toyota based forums (Toymods and Twincam.org), i know what it is like on the other side of the mod panel. Your job as a moderator is defined in the name, "Moderator" - ie to moderate forum activity. That role demands that you are imparcial, consistent, objective and fair. Of course you are going to cop personal attacks, people whinging about this and that and it is a thankless job - but that is no excuse to go off in a flurry of deleting and editting to your own desires. Well, now i spose its time for me to go back to what i do best. Reading. :D EDIT: i have blown my fuse a few times as a moderator, and looking back im pretty disappointed that i did.
  13. mmmAHHAHAHHAHAAAHA!! somehow i see that you guys have paid over $500 for your "TuRD" clutch for a bog stock Daiken Exedy item!! Just for some bling factor which no one will ever see..... Just to put evidence behind rollamods statements, a friend of mine paid ~$400 for a HD clutch for his SX rolla, and he works for toyota. I bought that same Daiken clutch with a standard pressure plate for $200, if we allow an extra $50 for the HD pressure plate... then thats a massive $150 markup on the RETAIL price of the Daiken. Oh.... that friend WORKS for toyota too :P
