  1. Oh I'm not saying the previous model was any better. In fact I think toyota is making them progressively worse. But since most other hatches look like that now, I guess its the way things are going *shrug* Mazda 3 sp23 doesnt look bad tho...
  2. If it were forced induction, or had some insane power ratio, I'd call it a hot hatch. Its like I dont consider the astra sri a hot hatch but i'll consider the sri turbo to be one. Body kits and vvti do not maketh the car :) And as for us 4age owners, half our cars (or the inside of em) come from japan and were never released here. So what toyota australia may or may not do is kind of irrelevant. Australia never really gets the top spec stuff anyhow. They just cant justify the numbers.
  3. Drifting fwd cars requires a different approach and judicious use of the handbrake. Altogether different type of drift to a rwd car, as you dont have the back wheels powering your slide. Not to say it isnt fun though :)
  4. Sorry mate, Shellharbour region Hey I'm only 20 min north from there :P And yes I realise they style these cars now for space and such, but it still doesnt stop them being ugly. I guess if you want good looks you shell out for a sports car :|
  5. I turn heads when people hear me take off :P And my bodywork has not a speck of rust thank you very much. I actually find the new corolla look ugly as hell. Toyota's designers have gone downhill. Its looking more like a chunky hatch sitting very high than the lower profile of the older models. But hey, everyone has their own opinions, neh? If you spend $25k+ on a car I would hope you bought it because you liked it :-D
  6. In other words, it goes well and sounds even better :)
  7. so ur basically saying that no corrola is to be compared to the type r? what about ur rolla? Id put my gze up against many things, but I would stoop to calling it a 'sports car'. Its a souped up hatch...I dont deny that :) I wouldnt feel let down if my car lost to a type r. Sure Id be a little dissapointed, but on stock boost and fwd its not exactly a ferrari :)
  8. Since I finished some work on the car today, I thought Id post up a description and some pics. Specs are: ae92 cs body MAP sensored ae92 4A-GZE 4A-GZE gearbox and drive shafts Extractors 2.5" exhaust all way with high flow cat & 2 1/2" Tip Odyssey Battery <---- in boot AE92 Levin disks and calipers RSR front suspension and shocks, lowered 3" RSR front swaybar 15" Stock AE101 Levin rims Levin steering wheel S/L 3point immobiliser Pioneer Deck DEH-P9450MP Pioneer 6x9" Pioneer Splits Autometer boost Guage Phantom SX Dash/Cluster Dodgy (well sort of) CAI You can just see the CAI piping behind the front bar.
  9. I wouldnt even put the sportivo and the integra type r in the same category...the 'rolla is a slightly improved small sedan/hatch whereas the type r is a 2 door sports car. Comparing them is like chalk and cheese. Youd be better off comparing the sportivo to the astra sri, top spec focus, ect ect.
  10. Depends on how 'south' on the south coast you mean :)
  11. Anytime, anyplace :-D Even with my dodgy gearbox and penchant for smoking the tyres at takeoff :)
  12. For the price of a new Sportivo you could probably build yourself two cars that would whup it. One of during the week and one for weekends :-D
  13. I know my slightly less **** ae92 will (and has) whup a sportivo :) They have a couple of things going for em but they arent exactly a performance machine y'know ;-)
