Not sure how they did it?? It was a full hand car wash, so can't imagine that they damage was caused by the actual washing of the car. There is no damage to the roof or bonnet or anywhere else on the car!! I was told to come back in today to review the security camera footage, but the manager was 'sick'. Will go back tomorrow and see what they have to say. Apparently they have had a chance to review the footage and still believe that the damage was not caused by them. I am unclear as to why they want me to come back in?? The car was there for 4 hours, so I can't imagine they are going to go through the full 4 hour footage with me?? Anyways, I'll see how I go...

Always wash the car myself, but other priorities at the moment... will check roof tomorrow and see. Didn't think of that? Cheers.

Hi all, Haven't posted for a while, been busy with new bub. Anyways, my wife had our Kluger washed today at a shopping centre car wash. I won't disclose them yet pending their response to the situation!! Car is about 3 months old and is still in new condition. My wife picked up the car and noticed that there was a series of scratches on the tail gate, including a large gouge... see pic below: Here's the problem: My wife didn't mention it to the car wash manager when she collected the car..... When I got home and was shocked by the gouge and scratches I called them immediately and they asked me to bring the car back. It looks as though they have opened the tailgate (which they did to clean the rear compartment) and the tailgate hit something on the way up. Upon returning they said that there is no way that those scratches could've been done at the car wash. I AM 100% sure that they did... with 3 kids we open the tailgate on every trip to get the pram out...we would've noticed these scratches.. They have cameras placed at the car wash which have a direct view of the washing area and perfect view of where our car was parked. I asked them to explore this footage. They left for 5 minutes and came back saying that they couldn't access the footage, how convenient. I have left this situation with them saying they would get back to me on Monday when they have had a chance to review the tape. I am concerned that this situation is being delayed to prevent me from getting a result and / or to delete the damning footage. My next step tomorrow will be to contact the shopping centre management and inform them of this situation and that I am not confident that my situation is being handled appropriately and to contact my insurance company to have them pursue this issue. Does anyone have any advice, legal or other to resolve this problem. PS: Have been wanting to post with new updates on the KXR - Grande conversion. So far have done Alpine rear dvd, oznest rails, foggies with KXS replacement stalk and leather steering wheel. I know this means nothing without pics, so i'll post up soon.. Appreciate any help. Agree with the piracy issue and would quite happily pay for the download / streaming, but where can you do this........?? Quite frankly I don't really want to download software onto my computer that I am not familiar with?? Bloody Channel 10, have been running Supernatural sucessfully for 3+ years with a loyal fan base and decide to scrap it due to 1 poor ratings result during the 'slow ratings' christmas season. Think I'll just wait for the DVD....

Hi all, Just discovered that Channel 10 has dropped Supernatural......Apparently due to poor ratings performance. I am now after an alternative to get my Supernatural FIX!!! I cannot buy the dvd as the current season is not available for purchase, iTunes Aust doesn't have it - the US iTunes does, but I cannot access due to restrictions for downloading in Aus. I have researched Bit Torrents and this seems to be an alternative?? But I have no clues about it and I suspect that this may be a slightly illegal way to go about it??? Does anyone currently use Bit Torrents and can share some info or have any other ideas on how to get Supernatral episodes?? Appreciate any help..

Hey mate, Looking great. How did you find the ride and handling after going from the standard KXR 17's to the 19's you have now? I have heard other say there isn't much difference ride quality wise? What about rough roads, highway noise, and handling? Differences? Thanks heaps Hi Wilsact, Negotiated to get wheels on the car when we purchased so I cannot give you a comparison with the 17's!! SORRY.

I second that. It's hard with water restrictions etc, etc so I collect rainwater and run a gravity feed system to my high pressure cleaner, works a treat. Also use the stupid looking hand mitt rather than a sponge. I'll post some pics up when I do my next wash for those that are interested. Have used car washes with the brooms, shopping centre hand car washes on previous cars / work vehicles, but will only do the Kluger myself - until the novelty wears off or like the youtube clip suggested, winter comes along and it's too cold.....

Possible reasons for the gap: 1.) feet that connect rail to the roof are too long - suppose that these can be filed back. 2.) the rubber that sits between the rail and the roof is not thick enough?? Having viewed both OZNEST and OEM rails alongside each other the rubber is definately different. 3.) As mentioned above by speedrace, the cover is not on properly with the tabs not snapping into place correctly. The more I think about it, speedracer could be right. When we put this on we noticed that the tabs had some plastic 'dags' on them that could be preventing the correct fitment. I will further investigate this, probably next weekend and post pics (if I remember!!) Anyway, see below more pics as requested by gerds.

Thanks gerds, I'll take some more photos tomorrow (or should I say today, how did it get to 12.32 AM??) from the front and side profile of the whole car. Time for bed!!

Not sure about the black on black or the silver rails?? I would probably lean towards the black IMO. See pic below with the gap, it is the same photo as I posted but I have highlighted the gap (see green lines). It's a bit hard to pick up due to the shadowing. This is the rear drivers side where the gap is at it's worst. I am a bit of a perfectionist also, but can live with this. Problem could probably be solved by filing back the height of the feet that secure rail to the roof, but I think I'll wait and see whether the rubber changes under weather conditions. I don't think water should leak in. If it does, there are rubber washers/gaskets that come with the kit that sit between the feet and the roof. Guess I'll find out in due course.

Thanks Gerds, I see what you mean about it beng a bit glossy, but looks fine. I am still trying to determine whether the Tacoma switch will fit... I'll keep everyon updated

Update: Rails have arrived and installed tonight!! Look good..... but they are not a perfect fit. As someone else reported there is a slight 3-4 mm gap between the rubber and the roof. The gap is worse on the back. I was lucky that there was a graphite grande parked across the road tonight and everything looks pretty similar except for the rubber bit that goes between the rail and the roof. There is also a slight colour difference - OZNEST rails are a couple of shades darker grey. I think that you can purchase the rubber bits seperately from Toyota!! But overall i'm not too worried about it as you would have to be up close to notice the gaps. I'll post some images tomorrow - Too dark now!! PICS as promised below: drivers side front drivers side rear passenger side front passenger side rear view of full rail full car shot - KXR transformed to Grande....nearly complete, foglights, sat nav, leather steering wheel (maybe??), leather shifter, etc, still to come.... As I said before, not perfect, but nad bad and considering the price saving I'm overall happy. Hot day in Melbourne today as also made the rubber a bit softer and it seems to sitting a bit better??

My OZNEST rails should arrive tomorrow!! Will probably install over the weekend, hopefully with no drilling and no gaps. I'll post some pics up when done.

Was looking for something like this a while ago when I had a Commodore. They are a clink in dash mount system. Below is a link to something similar: click style dash mount You insert the mount into the gaps between the fascia?? Will be a little way away from your 12v though..... Here's another one...
