If you need to get a shop to turbo your car for you, it's about $5K cheaper to sell your car and buy a $40K car that's already turbo'd.
To turbo your car properly, you need the following:
-Turbo... WRX TD04L is perfect for your application and can be had secondhand for $250
-Manifold... In an aus delivered car the safest place to mount the turbo is over the gearbox, custom steam pipe manifold from a shop to mount the turbo there with the appropriate bracing will be about $1K-1500
-Turbo water and oil lines... To ensure it keeps running.. ~$200-300, also require the sump to be removed to have the turbo oil return welded on.
-Injectors... VVTI 1JZGTE injectors are perfect for this setup, the hard part is finding a set. budget $250-400. You could buy the overpriced items from MWR if you want to go down the easy path and have more $$$ to burn.
-Plumb back BOV, Bosch or Brand name... $30-$500
-Intercooler... $150 ebay special
-Cooler Pipes... $500-1K depending on material
-Exhaust incl dump... $1K-$1200 depending on components selected and material used
-Silicon hose and T-Bolt clamps for pipework - $200-$300 if imported from the US, $500 to buy locally
-Boost Guage.. $30-$300, I recommend an electrical guage over a mechanical guage.
-Engine Management... PowerFC or Emanage with ignition/injector loom and MAP sensor, $1100 + tuning of $400-$500
LABOUR - Workshops generally charge $80-100/hr for this type of work, and it will take them a couple of months.
If you want manifold and turbo flanges I have a few lasercut sets leftover.
wow so that easily 10k for the whole setup. haha not as simple as i thought -_-" maybe i should just stick with simple mods aye. But i still think having a turbo rolla stands out hehe

Yes it's been done. If you're talking about the 1ZZ engine (Ascent, Conquest. Levin, Ultima) that's not too bad but if you're talking about the 2ZZ engine (Sportivo) then it would definitely need lower compression.
A good person to talk to would be rollamods.
thanks dude, but i dont really know much about this stuff you see. But are there any places that would help me out on not rip me off?

hey guy i really need some advice here. im pretty keen on turboing my corolla 2003. are there any turbo kits for it? and would it be dangerous turboing a corolla as in would there be side effects?

Hi fellows,
I have noticed that everytime I done some high speed driving or high Rev driving. I could smell the burning smell from the clutch. Is that normal? Have you guys experienced that with your stivo?
Cheers
Pat
are u riding ur clutch too much?
-
It's carbon fibre man. That in itself, is expensive alone. If there are any other places that do them they'd be around the same price. I'm grabbing the c-one cf bonnet myself soon man. Thing is we'd better check if it's legal to have one first I guess rofl.
Must ring the rta tomorrow.
haha yeh dude. where are u grabbing your one from?
btw i heard that SRS in the city tells them cheaper. Maybe go and check it out!

hey guys, just wanna ask if u guys know where i can get CF bonnets. The c one is good, i like the vent and stuff but its quite expensive. Any cheaoer places?
