Bad luck man. I done the same thing in a holden ute. Both of the wheels on the right hand side of the car slammed hard into the gutter and looks like yours does now. Alot of things had to be replaced and if i went through insurance it would of cost around 4500 for parts alone.
It is a bad feeling i know, i did mine 2 hours before midnight mass on easter, oh what a bad feeling! :(

Looking good mate. Always nice to see something different!

I love my sportivo and will probably have it until i have earned enough money to buy a Honda Civic EG with enough dosh for an engine swap.

Who's gonna be first to get them?!!?!?

G'day all,
Havnt been on here for a while, looks like some scuffles have unfolded, hehe, the mods are getting strict.
Anyhows...to cover my @r$e...i am aware many threads exist about this 'topic', but i am after a specific response and no previous posts cover exactly what i am pinpointing here.
I will be getting a new suspension setup for my conquest sometime soon(ish) and i am looking at king super lows with accompanying after market shocks. Why not coil overs? I have no intention of doing any track runs, i need some suspension with a bit of softness to compensate for the $h1t roads in my area AND coilovers are bloody expensive :(
So with all those 'alternatives' aside, what is there in the range of performance shocks that will function intendedly for a ~50mm drop? From experiences and research, konis and the sorts seem to have a large issue of bottoming out when placed under substantial stress (the roads in my area are 50% potholes). So, i need some shocks that will deliver optimal performance with a 50mm drop, because lets face it, lows just don't cut it - if you are going to lower your car, do it properly and don't waste time with crap that is just shy of stock ride height.
Cheers all, appreciate any responses.
Mate if you want a cheap pair of shocks go down to pedders and they have those sports ryder suspension shocks.
You could however opt for TRD shocks which are sold on the trdsales.com website.
I also am looking to lower my car and the insurance company says i cannot lower it more than 30mm, so it looks like i will have to make do with some Lows.

Nice man sounds like you did have some fun.
How did it fare against the other cars on the track (in corners and in straights)?
Now all you need to do is put a set of coilovers and sway bars on it and take it back to the track and compare it. :)

If a 5kw gain arouses you to the point of explosion, get a life.
Lol Hooray for some decency around here.

it will keep up or overtake most automatic V8s around at the moment (MK2 XR8, VZ SS etc.)
I love my Stivo, but theres no way in hell it would keep up with a SS or XR8, sorry, unless they aren't even trying. Its better to compare it to a six.

Hey all,
I recently bought a 2005 Black Sportivo, great car.. a few things tho.
Just so ppl know where im commin from..
I also own a Aw11 Supercharged Mr2 - I did a full engine conversion myself and have very good knowledge on toyota engines and particulary the 4a range.
1: The suspension.. It sits waayyy to high .. the front end seems quick on the turn in and sits pretty good..
But the rear end is way to sloppy and swings around too much.. Whats the best route to get all this sorted?
2: The motor: Its fantastic.. Its quite good but down low it sounds like a sewing machine and when you get it above 4 grand it makes nice music and sounds throaty.. Its like something in the intake opens up.. IE. VVTI
How can i fix this to be nice and throaty all the time?
3: The stock tyres are quite possibly the *******'st things ever.. i run azenis on my mr2 and the difference is massive.. Is this just me that thinks this.
I guess what im aiming for is to turn this thing into an actual hot hatch.. cause at the moment it feels like the motor is about 20 times more advanced than the rest of the car.. If thats toyota's idea on sports pack then id hate to see what the stock 1zz car steers like? Its just i get my mr2 and i can throw that thing around like an apple in the boot after shopping at woolies! :)
Anyways... This looks like a great forum and would love to stick around.
Cheers,
Lyle
1. Coilovers
2. CAI
3. Get new tyres?

I'd Rather buy a Ford XR5 turbo :). Much better platform and IMO a better looking car. Although if Renault AUS were to bring out the clio v6 i think i would have to mortgage the house again!
-
or he could wait for my other spyder to finish 500 whp + f20c, then ill blow him away.
are 2zz spyder will give it are good run for its money but the lotus will out handle it any day.
back to the topic thats one dam sexy car, but for the money i would rather buy are evo 9
Theres only so much cred that comes with owning an Evo, a lotus on the other hand...:o

With the tyre on fully inflated? thats pretty decent...my guess would be around 11-12kg's for each rim.

I'd be enticed to join...if there was more than 20 people on the forum lol.

All I can say is take it to another Dealer. I dealt with Peter Warren when I first got my car which is more than 2 years ago. I had so much problems with my car which i think was due to their incompetency. They will fix something and something else would be broken. One of the guys there even told me that I shouldn't be revving my car above 6000K and that I was abusing my car so they refused to look at the sticky gear shift issue. The fix turned out to be adjustment of the clutch.
I would never recommend those guys and if I was to take my car there for free services I wouldn't accept.
They really don't know what they are doing and I even know things regarding the fixes and recalls that we had before they do. Seriously....I strongly recommend u take ur car back and don't let them touch ur car again.
Reading ur post makes me think back at those days when I had so much problems with my car and it just pisses me off hearing that's its peter Warren. **** them!!!!
Lol very interesting. I will take note of that thanks.

Toyota apply the same manufacturing principles around the world no matter what plant. An example of this a NUMMI in North America where Toyota implemented their work principles into a GM manufacturing plant and the results where enormous. Higher worker morale, more efficient workers and most of all BETTER quality products.

hey strawberry... tell me... what noise are you getting from the g'box and why do they need to replace the reverse gear???
reason why I ask is because mine went into service last saturday, i complained about a noise i get when i step on the clutch... or when the car hangs on 3000rpm... the noise is like a frog is in the car...
they told me that a bearing needed to be replaced... the service guy is actually a friend of mine.. he wanted me to wear in the clutch abit more before the work is to be carried out.....
Hey man...i can't really describe the noise but i can tell you that it goes away when you put the clutch in...hope that helps.

Try being happy that its getting fixed
Lol right now its sitting at the dealership with everything dismantled. How can i be happy? I just bought the car and this happens...it really isn't a time for happiness, more so concern.
-
Tell them to fix it in a week or you want a loan car for the entire time the car is off the road. Norhty got told 3 weeks for parts for his car and funnily enough when toyota aust interviened they were here in 3 days.
They gave us a loan car, a 03 Corolla Ascent. But the point is having to wait 1 month so we can have the car back again, and its only a 2 month old car, really frusturating.
-
So my Stivo went in on monday for its first service. We had a concern about a strange g'box noise and told the guys and they checked it out. They said they needed the car for a few days to replace some bearings in the g'box...ok fine no dramas there its only a few days.
Then today we recieve an interesting call from Peter Warren Toyota saying that we wont have the car for a MONTH because they have to order and replace the reverse gear from Japan and it will take approx. 21 days to get here, not to mention how long it will take to install. This is really frusturating as it is only a 2 month old car with low kays and already something needs to be replaced.

you do get teh same car in GTO right?
whats the diffrence?
GTO is a 4wd coupe, which is twin turbo - maybe built to challenge the GTR32-33, and supra of the days?
FTO is an NA powerd 4 cylinder MIVEC engine - to target the ever growing integra, civic phase of VTEC - which is still going on...lucky for us it's the VVTI or VVTI-L that's fueling our blood lust :P
was being unproductive at work today :o , and typed in ' civic vs corolla vs mazda' - OZ honda and OZ mazda ppls are crazy every known insult under the sun has been thrown at the STIVo and how it's not as cracked up as the data shows it to be! <_< when's the next drag day in melbourne.... :D
Believe me i know. Im always on the Ozhonda forums, and some of disregard the stivo altogether. They reckon its not worth the money, yet years ago when the Civic vti-r was sold in aus it cost more than a stivo does now and it has WAY less features and less performance...interesting.
As for the FTO...the tiptronic's are slugs and before i bought the Stivo i was researching them and there seems to be alot of problems associated with the tiptronic box and other areas of the car. GR...umm no can anyone say ***** weak? GPX...they do have a nice sound, 2.0 v6 beautiful engine but it just isnt that quick...i reckon it would be about the same as the Stivo if not, just a little bit quicker (Manual only, the tiptronic is very poor).
-
Wow bit more than i was expecting but cheaper than a new set of rolling stock nonetheless.
-
Hey guys since RME1 didn't get an exact response on powdercoating the stock sportivo rims, i'll try again. Im very interested in powdercoating the sportivo rims a dark bronze color and would like to know places in Sydney where this can be done. Have any of you ever had rims powdercoated before? and if so how much would it cost and is it durable?
-
Handling would be up there, but the ride quality on bumpy roads would be teh suck.

You have to admit Toyota are a bunch of homo's.
And i also have the shift issue at high RPM's.
