  1. well I have actually have the fuel filter but did not install it as that was the one thing I dont know how to do. I can get a friend of mine to help me out and see if the problem persists. I will try get an audio clip of it and post it so you can hear it. But it pretty much sounds the exact same as when you start the car and it cranks 2-3 times then starts. Same as that but jsut doesnt start. Would it be a good idea to take it to a mechanics and just ask them to quote me up to find out whats wrong with it and then just replace it myself when they tell me?
  2. Hi Everybody, I have a problem starting my car. It doesnt happen all the time but there are periods where it happens frequently. When I go to start the car, it makes the kicking noise but it doesnt start. Eventually if i try long enough it will start. There has never been a situation that I could not get it started. That being said, I may even be trying 5 minutes before it actually starts though. It will always make that kicking noise so I know its not the battery. I just did a major service on the car myself and i got new iridium spark plugs so i know its not the spark plugs either. And this problem was occuring before I serviced my car. I am wondering what the problem may be. I am guessing it is the starter motor that is giving me grief. If it is or you guys think it is something else, please let me know so I can buy a replacement part. Also, where would I buy replacement parts for this. I am not fussed at all if its second hand, if anything id prefer if it is second hand/reconditioned. I live in St. Albans which is north west/western suburb of melbourne. So traveling to western or northern suburbs is not an issue. Which shop would i be able to buy the part from. Thank you in advance, Alojz

  4. Hi guys, thanks for the reply. Located in Taylors Lakes, Melbourne. I have a friend who is a mechanic who can show me a few things which is good. The chain is a relief because he told me changing the timing belt can be a pain in the backside. Yeah i was looking at getting a bahco set from bunnings. Just wanted a second opinion on this stuff. Thanks for the heads up!
  5. Hi Everybody, I have a 2005 Corolla Sportivo zze-123r. I want to start doing my servicing and all the rest of it myself. My car is approaching a major service as it is on 97000kms. I want to change oil, oil filter, air filter, spark plugs, brake pads, brake fluid, coolant, timing belt. Anything else that I have missed let me know please. I have been told that the timing belt is really hard to change. Can somebody please let me know how do I do this. If there is a guide that is available or something would be helpful. I saw other links for repair manual but none of them worked. Please somebody help me out. Also, what tools would I need to buy to be able to do all this. Also where is the best place to buy all of these materials like brake pads, fluid etc. I know I can get them from Super Cheap Auto, Repco, but where can I get it the cheapest. Thanks Guys.
