  1. hey guys... how much does it cost for a wheel alignment? i just got my car lowered so yeh in a about a weeks time im gonna get the wheels aligned once the springs bed in a bit... pedders said $60 for front...

is it true that the rear cant be adjusted cos of the design? like i need the camber and toe to be done but apparantly u only can adjust the front...

    what do u think guys?

  2. just installed my springs! woohoo... car handles even madder now... looks much better!!

i have to admit it took me a little while to get used to it cos it didnt feel right at first but then its an animal now when taking those twisties...

bloody guy at the place i installed scraped my front bumper in 2 places when he took it for a drive... he didnt angle it and ive got these scratches underneath the front lip... can i do anything about it? i only found out later when i got to my friends place...

  3. how about performance? a wider tyre will make the steering harder right? im not sure what what size ill get but im definately getting semi slicks once my turanza run out... which is gonna be pretty soon the way they are lasting now... hehehe TJ u know what i mean...

nads got the semi's on his car now... awesome... what more can i say :D

  4. hey hey guys... just got that TRD front strut from castle hill toyota... thanks TJ... i spoke to james :P installed it myself in the afternoon and took my car down in the arvo to OP for a test run and what can i say... BIG GRIN all round :D

its an absolutely great mod... the car turns in sooo nicely and is sooo much more responsive... i'd recommend it to anyone with a FF setup...

also just came back from OP AGAIN cos we went down a 2nd time... hectic driving... but lovin the front strut all the way...

now waiting on my springs :D another big grin :D

  5. hahaha mad toohey... sounds like u had fun... its all fun yeh?

i told ya its hard man... :P but the lotus coulda got way better times im sure of it... prolly first timer... and yeh the stock tyres are absolutely crappy once they heat up on track... need some high performance semi's!

did u get ur car lowered yet?

but yeh 1:25 not bad man... hard to stay in lift yeh? wow... so my 1:22 times arent that bad after all :P i just have to improve on my lines and i reckon i can get 1:20 next track day... which will be 8th july guys!

  6. toohey before u buy them from autobarn join toyo78 and me and get them shipped here for $250! its a better deal if ur in melb since they install them for $305 all up... but to ship to any state is $250... best price i found in sydney is like 150 a pair so yeh... not cheap...

  7. Is someone able to tell me what the product code is for the low King Springs for the Stivo. I just called Autobarn for a price and the guy said that they do not manufacture a spring suitable. I know people have them so I would appreciate the code if anyone knows it.

yeh im interested in the king springs as well... how much was ur quote and how low is the drop? 40mm?

  8. yeh well... make sure u slow down for the first corner... its kinda tricky... u can take the bend without braking but u have to brake in that little straight before the hardish right... then u can take 3rd all the way until the middle hairpin... then u gotta slow down and do that in 2nd or else u'll understeer... then 2nd for last corner and yeh... cain it on the straight...

take it easy if u've never been b4... try and figure out ur line as it is very important on this track... basically one little mistake and u lose losta time... and yeh keeping in lift is quite hard... i was quite happy with my performance... i've still to get better as this is a new car and learning the lines and all that...

  9. yeh its more fun... i mean WAY more fun chasing ppl on the track than driving by urself cos u pressure them etc :P i thought the sportivo had close ratio gears already?? anyway im still not used to car yet so yeh i reckon if u were a good driver u could stay in the power band..

yeh that sounds interesting... might invest in some suspension first.. the roll gets annoying... ive done 3000km's... theres no real shifting problems actually.. its just difficult heal toe-ing into 2nd sometimes cos its really tight and u cant slam in it gear cos of reverse... :( clutch and brakes are fine... brakes are pretty good... but yeh as i said b4.. if u brake hard and turn steering a lil bit the car loses the back and its quite scary hehehe... i find the first corner really hard and where i lose alot of time...

  10. yeh was a good day... tiring but good experience to see how the car goes on track... basically the suspension is really really soft so theres heaps of bodyroll... and yeh under hard braking the tail slips out a bit especially on the 2 hairpins and the first corner... its really difficult to stay in lift out of these corners... the needle is stuck at 5000 and u lose vital seconds of lap time getting back into the power band... :(

what about times u say? well i was timed for a few laps and it was up and down cos my line is really bad... was doing 1:30's at the start but got better during the day and got around 1:22-1:23... mmm not bad considering the car is 3 weeks old and my first manual car :P
