  1. Yeah spotted all 6 screws and removed them all.

Cant get my hand in far enough to remove said wiring.

Speedo cable is still attached, do i disconnect it somewhere down near the gearbox?

Thanks for the quick reply fellas!!

Oh yeah forgot bout that, yep undo the speedo cable in the bay and even push the cable thru the firewall a bit to get more room the get your hands behind the cluster

  2. haven't missed a screw holding the cluster in? also needs jiggling. Lots of it.

Also all the wiring and speedo cable need to be disconnected? Maybe take the wheel off to give more room for said jiggling.

can you get it out far enough to get your arm/hand behind it?

Hopefully the dodginess doesn't extend to the cluster being glued in or some bs like that

  3. So after spending some quality time with the headunit - I reckon i'll keep it, looks a lot cleaner than every aftermarket HU out there and the layout of the controls makes sense. Hate how the volume control is almost always on the LEFT on most HU's.

haha thanks Jus but i went to the wreckers and picked up a spare dash console thingo, broken though as most are unfortunately but the colour is a close match to the SX black.

All need now is someone to lend me some time with a dremel tool :P Anyone??

  4. The factory fujitsu ten CD player in my car finally carked it a few days ago, been meaning to replace it for a while so it was a good opportunity..

So I got this to replace it ^_^

Pretty good I thought, has bluetooth + USB - plugged straight in and used the same bracket holes

Only now the dash trim wont fit back without some dremel help i'm afraid

Don't really want to cut up my trim but i'm quite liking this HU...

  5. Wheels look horn, cant wait to see them on your car! :D

    + 1 millions

I like that you got some hubrings made up - attention to detail [+safety]!

How much longer are the extended studs that you ordered btw? Just enough to fit the wheels or super-race spec loooong ones?

  6. THIS!!!! IMG_20120624_102919.jpg so damn sexy!!! sat in the passenger seat though.... apparently in the states they already hacked the engine out and put a 2JZ in it...

I'm totally sold on the 86, even before seeing it in the flesh.

Gotta stop spending on the Seca and save $$$$!!

  7. So i've had this lying around for a while and finally on the car this wed

flywheel is custom made by Barry @ MRP - i must say very impressed with the design, quality/finish/fit

    IMG_5491.jpg

plus a new HD exedy clutch

    IMG_5490.jpg

super-inaccurate scales shows pretty close to 3.9kg

    IMG_5488.jpg

    All that replaces this

    IMG_5524.jpg

previous flywheel on the scales showed about 6kg

    IMG_5531.jpg

Very VERY stoked with the results! revs cleanly, sooo addictive it's been hard to drive sensibly to bed it in...and it's kicking off thoughts about even more powa/handling..

Lastly, gotta give props to dorifto for helping to restore my clusters illumination in record time!

I know u wanted me to go amber, but white doesn't look too bad right? :toast:

  8. +1

Thank you to all the organisers. Awesome route. Great bunch of peeps!

    Today was bliss, minus Mr Graham in the J A G U A A A R.

Least the retrosexual music kept us all amused for a little bit

Still can't laughing about Justin's Angry bird bouncing around like a loose testicle lol

most ppl that do that hang them well off the ground - Justin's masterstoke is that it touches the ground :toast:

For more genius, add another bird haha

  9. Dude i'm always interested in your updates!

Any plans to get another set of rims for the semis? and if not why? You're wheel whoring days behind you now? j/k lol

Good to see you're still getting tracktime, skill and experience always trumps mods I reckon.

It's ironic how [R]andomreath[T]ests are often not random at all hey Trung?

Almost every time I get stopped the Constables tell me they like my wheels lol :ninja:

  10. It is true that old cars have a lot more character Mick.., even though the AE90 series is still far from being classic or anything, I love driving it and it has JUST enough mod-cons to make it comfy as a daily haha.

At the moment i'm waiting on a 3.9kg flywheel to arrive - and trying to decide whether or not to replace my clutch [which is perfectly fine] at the same time..

i LOVE this car ... has to be one of the best if not the best seca in the country... must be seen in person.. and Dave yes lots of guys still care about AE9X corollas ... they **** all over anything newer !!

99% of tocau is about to get mad at you for that comment... :P haha

    haha, haters gon' hate right?

Nah - new cars can also push my buttons too, I'd love to be able to import a Crown Athlete, but i'd settle for the current IS350 :D
