  1. Although the repair cost could be lower than the insured value of the car, remember they could still sell the wreck as is or as parts. Also, most insurers give lifetime warranty on the repairs these days, for major damages it would probably cost them more in the long run to provide that warranty. Merry Christmas and happy shopping!
  2. So to continue this saga, I finally did my 60k service with SciFleet at Taringa for a much more agreeable price of $285.
  3. You must have a crappy dealer then. Here is my receipt for my 60,000km service. Dealer details are included. I provided my own engine oil and brake fluid. It may not be the cheapest service around, but the location is convenient and compared to some other dealers, when I call to book it in, I can usually drop it off that same afternoon for the evening service or first thing the following morning for standard day service. If they supplied the fluids, I would estimate the cost to have been around $299. The same dealer now wants $640 for the same 60k service. Admittedly I am not supplying my own fluids, but that is a huge difference..
  4. Don't bother. Chances are they will not use the oil you bring and just use their cheap crap oil and steal your oil. Are you serious? i serviced my aurion sx6 60k at noble toyota at chullora for $259 Man that's cheap. I rang around some dealers in Brisbane, and most are quoting around $500 to $600 for my SX6 60k.. Can anyone recommend a dealer that isn't a ripoff?
  5. If your sx6 is built before 2009 and you still have warranty, get a toyota tech to travel with you and replicate this problem (usually best somewhere that you know it shows up ) and they may replace the transmision ECU as this has updated software which doesn't completely cure it but is a lot less noticable. The Toyota factory warranty just finished last Friday! :( I have about 55,000km on the clock. I did just buy this car 2nd hand from a dealer not long ago though, I wonder if this will be covered in the 3 months statutory warranty..
  6. I have a similar problem with my SX6. It feels like I was in neutral when gently touching on the accelerator at slow speeds (eg turning a corner at lights waiting for the pedestrians to clear the road, or coming off a downward slope). The engine would rev up to almost 3k rpm before it suddenly catches 1st or 2nd and jerks a bit at the same time. The problem is rather annoying but difficult to reproduce reliably.
