  1. Hey everyone. Recently we aquired a CAI and yesterday after about 3 hours of taking things off a trying to make the mofo fit with the battery still in tact we got the thing installed.

We ended up with 2 moduless that we had to take off the stock airbox and a few lines and a T piece feeding into nowhere. (one of them a vacuum line that we had sealed up)

My question is what did you do with all of these items and modules? Are they throw away? or are they cable tied up somewhere in your engine bay?

Anyone else have the shift performance CAI?

Is it ok for the battery to be sitting on an angle? its not flat but its secure. I just get the feeling its not right.

Anyway if you all could show me picture of your CAI installs in your facelift stivos i'd really appreciate it.

    thanks yall

Heres a pic of my CAI, I hope it helps you with your install!

    My CAI

Is shift performance cai the best choice for 2zzge? Or is there more effective ones for a higher price? If the shift performance cai is the way to go, ill order one from ebay.

  2. 1.2 Buddhas or 1.36 oz_vikings. Good to hear that my power to weight isn't the worst going around...

Lmao, xibit sure is crazy with his crew. I would go deaf for sure with that sub. Can ya imagine trying to fit that into a new mini and putting the volume near max. I think the cars would be stuffd in under 3 seconds :) hehehe Crazy but useless.

  3. I used to have a PDA and use that for my SAT-NAV system, works perfectly and it was also portable (you can use it for bushwalking).

    So If i were you i'll :

    1) Buy a PDA with Bluetooth

    2) Buy the Bluetooth Antenna

    3) Buy the Navman Software

    4) You're set to go....

    ---------

TOTAL COST $500 (depends how good you bargain with them)

or as someone has said before, just buy a MAP for $30 :P

    Goodluck!

I don't like that idea hehe. Even though it will still work, i wouldn't like the look of it. It would make me look like i couldnt afford a real sat nav hehe. I'll probably buy a different system. Thanks for the idea though, cheers,

  4. where is this shopped image?

How much would i have to lower my sportivo to make it look exactly like this??? 55mm?

Guys, you have to admit, that photochop looks good. I am so going to do it like that. No No for 19's. I say 18's.

Its true..it does look pretty good......but is having the car that low really pratical??

Do not know lol, thats why i want to go for 18s so i can cover up the empty wheel arches, make it look neat and not as road scraping low. :)

the rolla looks like its got about -2degrees of camber dialed out as well.. possibly even more haha

    looks hot tho

i think that sportivo in that photochop picture with its standard looking features looks way better than a standard gti.

  6. While im waiting on the sportivo, i think we should do a cruise later on. One in sydney and one in melbourne. It would be great i think. Melbourne guys can stretch the sportivos legs towards sydney and sydney guys can do the same towards here. Cruise + Road Trip. I think it will be mad. A chance to get to know each and every one of you individualy. 1 Weekend is good for it. Anyone up for it? Im up for it in 2 months :) because that's when i will have the sportivo:)

Thats a fair bit of driving for a weekend!

man its a perfect road trip. Only 9-10 hours away. It's nothing for a road trip. Later on, im going join gumball 3000, 3000 miles that is. :) Now that's a fair bit. And this is only couple of kilometeres away :P

  7. Hi guys, before i pick up my sportivo in 2 months, im thinking of adding dvd-sat nav on to the extras list to make it the total package. But its a bit expensive. Do you guys think its worth getting it???

If I were you I'd be buying a Nav Man, I have one and the best thing about it is that you can

store it away when it's not in use. As for the Toyota Sat/Nav it sits visible for woodbe thieves!

Congratulations on your purchase on such an awesome ride!

    Good luck! ;)

Thanks a lot man, im starting minor mods very soon with suspension and wheels. I havent seen the Nav Man, if it has better features than the original factory dvd sat nav, i would go for that. I thought of the thieves thing as well, as its very visible, but who can see if the windows are hardcore tinted right? I don't know what to do atm, im very confused about the price of the dvd sat nav of toyota. Some say 4500 dollars, some say 2000, my dad says its expensive and i say, get something better from alpine or bose with the storage button, which hides the screen inside and if i sell car, i dont want to get in one with a no sat nav feature as i would be used to it lol so i would be better off maybe with a different brand so i could uninstall later on if needed.

  8. When i bought my sportivo back in March 04 i enquired about the nav system.

they told me that the nav system option would set me back around $4500...

    ..there went that idea.

    Goddam!

When I brought my car in May the dealer told me it would be around $2000. I should have taken him up on it.

Personally I think i'm going to get a portable GPS unit. I'm in an out of different cars alot so it makes more sense on both a cost and practicality basis.

Im having the same ideas atm. My sportivo corolla arrives in 2 months and my dad said that the dvd sat nav was expensive. But 4500 dollars for a screen? Noo waiiii lol. You can get awesome sound upgrades for 4500 dollars. :) I heard it was 2000 dollars as well. Does this **** even play dvds???

  9. While im waiting on the sportivo, i think we should do a cruise later on. One in sydney and one in melbourne. It would be great i think. 10. otherwise wahts the point!

Thats why ppl buy sprts cars!

very true. This 2 months is killn me. Such a long wait for my sportivo. What do u think of the new sti? i thought it was gay when i first saw it in pictures, but it's a real stunner at real life. Love it and even though i love evo's i prefer new sti over the new evo ix anyday!!!! 500cc more and 400nm to play with :) Im planning to buy in a few years time :)

  11. I'd say the sportivo wont have enough torque in the top end to push through to 235 in a decent amount of time, not without a LONG straight road or LONG downhill section :P

a stock MY01 WRX struggles to accelerate after 215km/h due to the wind resistance at that speed. And it has much more power/torque than a sportivo

Depends on weather ofcourse, on a good weather sportivo should bringdown 235 in time. Seen honda s2000 stock hit 280 downhill? Crazyyy!!!

  12. I recently did a long drive thru Coffs-Dubbo-Griffith-Bathurst-Sydney-Coffs

I hit 210kmh at the start of sixth (2zz), was still pulling...but i backed off. It was SO stable at speed!!! (especially compared to my old ED falcon at 180kmh. The Corolla loves a trip.

I highly recommend a drive to Bathurst for a day trip from Sydney, Mount Panorama is definatly a must for any car nut, even at 70kmh over the top its a hoot!!. (drive around a few times to suss out if theres any cameras)

    Nothing Suss <_<

Do you think corolla sportivo would hit 235? Whats the max speed of it?

  13. but after the current sportivo is there gonna be another?

By the way, corolla sportivo is still in sale and it will be there till a new corolla hits the production line.

    bzzzzzt wrong..

the sportivo has already been removed from the toyota website.. and i think the last shipment has already landed

LOL i just ordered my sportivo 3 days ago and 2.5 months to go. What last shipment? lol

Check the build date when you collect it ... it will either say 2005, or will be illegal to drive, as the Sportivo no longer meets Australian emissions rules, hence why its been taken off the market.

thank you, im definately going to do that. Im guessing its going to say 2005. Dont you just hate these gay aussie emission rules!!!

NO! What's wrong with people, emmission laws are here to protect our environment, our earth, our future and our future generations, where is our existence without clean air, clean water, and a healthy eco-system? Without stricter laws there is no responsibility within big corporations like car manufacturers. ULEV is the standard now, i think Nissan has led the way with sustainable environmental friendly sports motoring by making the 350Z. I am so thinking of getting the new Honda Civic Hybrid :P I am just sick of being held at ransom by OIL!!! while CEO's of oil companies and politicians make record breaking profits

Hybrid's are gay, we will never see cars fly, environment and air will never be clean. You would look good in a hybrid ferrari i guess, but wont see that happening either :)
