  1. i think with mine it's part of the warrenty to get it serviced with toyota..........

Maybe i should clarify...because i bought my car from a toyota dealership a condition of the "extended" car warrenty is i get it serviced through toyota......

With Extended Dealer Warranty, you must get your car serviced at that dealership only for the extended warranty...

Check with the dealer you bought the car from to clarify however...

Yes, so we better to buy the car at the dealer that got good services department...In my case, Terry Shields Toyota, and I gave up the Extended plan...actually I think if I services with them, my car will dead with 3 years...and the extended warranty just won't help. :help:

  2. I should read this before I done my services <_<:(

Went to Castle Hill Toyota for 40K services, I requested to replace the spark plug to Denso Iridium. On invoice parts listed IK20 Iridium Plug.

But Denso website IK16 is for 1ZZFE, IK20 for 2ZZGE. Don't know why they think I got 2ZZGE...Is that cool to put the IK20 on 1ZZ??? They also overfilled engine oil...(about 1CM over the MAX)

Really hard to find a Toyota services center work correctly at NSW. :help:

  3. I only use BP fuel because its cleaner than Shell and Caltex fuel. I also have a 07 Corolla 6-speed Manual. My average fuel usage is 8.2L/100km according to the car odometer

how do you know bp fuel is cleaner than shell, caltex and how did you test this??

    x2!!! That's an outrageous claim.

I just did nearly 650km on a tank of Vortex 98, calculated around 7.8L/100 km. That's after warming my car up for 5 mins every morning, driving in peak hour to uni everyday and revving to redline in 1st and 2nd gear fairly regularly.

I'm getting anywhere between 600-700k's(Normally pull 650 if not too much thrashing about) from a full tank of V-Power, warming up every morning, driving in traffic, quite a bit of lift too!

I prefer to put v-power in my car, after using fuels like caltex vortex and bp ultimate or whatever, and then putting in some V-power, i can instantly feel a bit of difference, my engine feels like its revving more freely or something.

I do feel Shell V-Power rev better compare with Caltex too...even on stock 1zzfe :)

Also, drive by wire corolla (early model till 05) also got 100KW engine.

  4. Panel filter is a waste of money.......the panel filter does not induce a significant pressure drop..... Save that money towards something better. If you want a throaty sound, remove the snorkel from the airbox. Its free and sounds great

Totally agree. I done this mod & sounds great. But is not free...I bought a pipe & attach to it, make sure it sick the cold air :).

  5. Well I haven't heard of an N/A straight six yet to be honest, with regards to exhaust. Everything I've heard with regards to jap sixes have usually been with a turbo along the exhaust system.

most, if not all the turbo engines from Jap cars come in a non-turbo variant...

another good straight 6, NA, example is the BMW M3, they sound awesome too :)

or the humble Ford Falcon engine...

What I meant was I've never actually heard one in person or upclose....I'm very much aware that pretty much most(if not all) turbo variants start off as N/A bases

Don't forget some of Suburu Legacy got a "H6" boxer Engine...M3 really sounds awesome ...

  6. Hi Guys

I'm a new member from new zealand.

I have a 2002 tiptronic facelift Toyota Allex (same as the Runx) with TRD Shocks, Springs and Exhaust. It also has the TRD HID head lights(I think) with adjustable height control. It also has the carbon fibre dash console and door window controls.

The Dash is fully white and not red but I know it is definately a 2ZZGE 9000rpm model. I have two issues.

Firstly my Allex limits at 7800 and I use 98 octane fuel. I am in the process of trying Caltex 95 to see if the limit changes but it is just annoying that it limits at 7800 (doesn't let you enjoy the extra 500rpm of lift.)

Secondly how would the dash colour have been changed as I see many people have issues changing from red to something else. Or do I just have a very different corolla? The Allex was imported from Japan and I am the first owner ex Japan.

Mmm...May I ask what Engine u got first? That is no engine pic on your allex. 1zz, 2zz? Don't really think they got a 2ZZ with auto box.

  7. I pay $40 i think at Fulcrum. It is only a front wheel alignment. $70 sounds like a 4 wheel alignment, and there ain't much that can be adjusted back there.

    sorry to hijack your thread

most places told me the rear cant be adjusted at all, because its solid, or are they just being lazy? thats why i only pay 40 for all my alignments

YA, I did 4 wheel alignment last time too...So, it was not unnecessary?

  8. i tried the 1st setup with snorkel down to the foggie and then i didnt feel much diff so i took the whole snorkel out and now i just love how the engine ROARS :P might get a new panel filter to finish the job :) all depends..

Yes, from when you start Engine, you can hear the air box is sucking air...and engine can rev more easily...but well, it sucking hot air from the engine bay...

  9. I am just after feedback about aftermarket experince and locations purchased not genuine

ok...i bought eyelids from ignition x and grille from ebay. firstly, eyelids. i think they are the same as the ones on ebay which fits perfectly no prob at all. secondly, the grille. it was alright. but i have trouble to fit it properly since i need to trim somepart at the back of the grille located near the screw holes...well u'll see what i mean when u get one. for my opinion, just get it off ebay. bargain and its looks good on ur car...so gud luck bro

ignition x is finished I believe. No new address at all...

  10. here's how i have run the hose.

what does everyone rekon its alright there?

with that white thing in the air box should i leave it in with my setup?

got a k&n panel filter in too.

seems to run pretty good just worried about when it rain <_<
