  1. Ha-ha, that was the first thing I checked but unfortunately that wasn't what it was. I've read some stuff on the net about this sort of problem and it sounds fairly common, something to do with the electrics in the car playing up. Most of the time you have to pay upwards of $500 or more to get it fixed. Thanks for the reply though, I wish it was just as easy as the child lock.
  2. Hey guys, I'm about to sell my 02 Camry Sportivo and I was going through the car to see if anything needed replacing, fixing or cleaning up. When I was in the back seat of the car I tried to get out on the rear right side of the car but the door wouldn't open. The door is unlocked and won't open from the inside. When I gave the handle a good yank it open the door slightly then you could open from there. Then I tried the other door in the back, to find the lock is really hard to push to either unlock it or lock it. This door though opens fine though compared to the other door. The next problem is with the locks and doors, is when I go to use the remote locking it locks all three doors minus the rear left side. It doesn't move at all. Has anyone else had any similar problems like this? I really wanna see if it can be fixed easily because I know as soon as I take it somewhere they will throw a very hefty price on what could be a small problem that is easily fixed. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers Wellsie
  3. Hey guys I have just been doing an oil and filter change on my camry and it's such a pain in the *****, trying to get the oil filter off. I bought some filter pliers this morning thinking it would help but, because off where the filter is on these cars its really hard to try and twist it off. Anyone with a similar model please give me some hints to try and get this thing off. Cheers Wellsie
  4. Cheapest way to make it sound better would be the catback and suitable muffler. Definitely avoid the cannon and you don't need to replace your cat. It should only cost you at absolute most $250. How much would a full exhaust set up cost roughly?
  5. cheers guys thanks for the reply's
  6. Hey guys I'm looking at getting a new exhaust for my 2002 Sportivo, I don't want a noisy "Cannon" but, I want something to make a bit more noise than the stock standard set-up. Any suggestions would be helpful. Cheers Wellsie
  7. Had everything installed today speakers sound pretty good all amped up. Still thinking about a sub but the factory speakers will defiantly keep me going for a bit.
  8. Well I might just buy a 4 channel amp plug it all up with my pioneer head unit and see how the speakers go, if they are all right would definitely save me some moolah. Thanks for the replies. Cheers, Wellsie
  9. I'm pretty cash strapped at the moment after buying a pioneer head unit, so I will be listening to the factory speakers for a while before I go out and buy new ones. Are the tweeters hard to get to?
  10. Heys guys What speakers do the 02 Camry Sportivos have in them, are they all 6X9? (front and rear) Cheers, Wellsie
  11. I'm going to buy some new speakers for my stivo soon. Is it hard to fit the tweeters in the area on the dash where the stock ones are?
  12. thanks for the replys
  13. thanks bud, that answered my question Cheers, Wellsie
  14. Hey guys quick question, can you get K & N replacement filters that would fit into a 2002 Camary Sportivo? Cheers, Wellsie
  15. Hey guys and girls My name is Chris, but call me Wellsie, I just recently bought a 2002 Camry Sportivo. After driving around in a 1990 CA Lancer for the last 2 years I am so much happier with my latest purchase. I have the 2.4L Manual and is such a smooth car to drive. It's Silver and is very much stock, I paid $8500 for it. I don't plan on modifying it too much but, I am starting with the sound system. I am in the process of buying a Pioneer head unit, the one with GPS ect and should be finished in around 4-5 weeks. The only other mods I plan on doing is the exhaust, air intake and upgrade the lighting. I probably will put some new rims on her when my new tyres run wear. I live on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland and look forward to hear and see how every one else's cars are going. Cheers Wellsie
