  1. Hi all, Firstly thanks for your useful information. I just bought a 2005 Estima VS 3.0L with AWD.

I am currently going through the process of getting a RWC.

Robmac, did you buy the owners manual from here (http://www.jpnz.co.nz/afawcs0131171/CATID=8/SUBID=130/ID=40/SID=529005371/productdetails.html) and was it useful? I'm thinking about getting it myself as my car didn't come with one.

In addition, I'd be keen to know of any locations you source parts from as I too am based in Melbourne. Are non-engine parts typically the same as a 2005 Tarago?

In addition, the rear windows seem to be tinted very dark and the mechanic said it should be OK if it's factory tinted. Are yours the same and were they passed?

    Thanks.

  2. Hi chaps, I just got myself a 2005 Estima. Came with a new Chinese head unit that has GPS, DVD, reverse camera, ipod connection, bluetooth etc but still seems cheap! When you say 'front cameras' do you mean those on the side mirrors? Looking at the Clarion unit and also keen to know which autobarn did the job? Looking at putting in amp and getting better speakers as well!

  3. Hi,

When I flick the headlights on my 2007 Ascent ZRE152R, the dashboard lights don't flick on, nor do the rear tail lights. This can be quite dangerous when driving at night as you can imagine.

After working properly for two years, it started to be intermittently on and off, but now they won't flick on at all. Any ideas on what may be wrong? All fuses seem OK. I take it this would be a question for an auto elec..

Edit: I have a hunch what this may be...can someone point me to where the tail relay is located?

    Cheers

  4. Are there any wiring diagrams available that show which are the ground wires and where they are ground to? This is the stock standard head unit.

I suspect an incorrect ground wire as well. Would the head unit still power up if the ground wire was not grounded or is there a separate ground wire for the speakers?

I doubt it's the speakers as they all cut out at once.

    EDIT: I found this: http://www.modifiedlife.com/2007-toyota-corolla-car-radio-wiring-diagram/

    Extract:

2007 Toyota Corolla Car Stereo Wiring Diagram

Car Radio Battery Constant 12v+ Wire: Blue/White

Car Radio Accessory Switched 12v+ Wire: Gray

    Car Radio Ground Wire: Brown

    Car Radio Illumination Wire: Green

    Car Stereo Dimmer Wire: White/Black

Car Stereo Antenna Trigger Wire: Black

Car Stereo Amp Trigger Wire: N/A

    Car Stereo Amplifier Location: N/A

Car Audio Front Speakers Size: N/A

Car Audio Front Speakers Location: N/A

Left Front Speaker Positive Wire (+): Pink

Left Front Speaker Negative Wire (-): Violet

Right Front Speaker Positive Wire (+): Light Green

Right Front Speaker Negative Wire (-): Blue

Car Audio Rear Speakers Size: N/A

Car Audio Rear Speakers Location: N/A

Left Rear Speaker Positive Wire (+): Black

Left Rear Speaker Negative Wire (-): Yellow

Right Rear Speaker Positive Wire (+): Red

Right Rear Speaker Negative Wire (-): White

Does this mean the "Car Radio Ground Wire: Brown" is the one to make sure is grounded?

  5. Hi,

I have a 2007 Corolla Ascent ZRE15 and the other day i had a small crackling sound now there is no sound coming out of the speakers. The head unit seems to work fine, plays cd's tunes to radio etc but no sound whatsoever. I have tried turning the volume up :P

I also took out the head unit to inspect the cabling and everything seems to be in place OK. The fuses are also OK under the hood.

Does anyone have any ideas what may be causing this? I suspect a loose cable as I sometimes here a crackle when i go on bumpy roads but not sure where?

    Thanks in advance.
