  1. Hi Seng

    They will fit perfectly.

I was a little concerned the front struts may not fit but everything bolted up fine.

You need to use the original strut top mounts and the rubber spring seats from your old struts but it all fits into the Bilstein struts perfectly.

With the rear shocks there is a rubber boot you need to swap over and again fits onto the new shocks fine.

Bit hard to see the struts/shocks without removing the wheel but here are some photos on my 2012 ZRE152 Hatch.

    Cheers

  2. Hey all,

Just wanted to share some info re Bilstein shocks and the ZRE152 Corolla Hatch

Ive just replaced my standard front struts and rear shocks with Bilstein B4 struts and shocks.

I found the standard shocks, especially the front too soft both in compression and rebound damping.

The Bilsteins are way better. Hard to quantify but a vast improvement.

Having used KYB & Koni before i thought I would like to go for Koni but found the Bilsteins at a very good price from an online shop in Germany. www.rexbo.eu

I checked the Bilstein website http://www.bilstein.de/en-uk/products/search-service/online-catalogue/

(listed as Toyota Auris) and the part numbers are :

    Front Left 22-168337 Quantity: 1 (79.80 Euro)

    Front Right 22-168344 Quantity: 1 (79.80 Euro)

    Rear 19-168210 Quantity: 2 (55 x 2 = 110 Euro)

    Shipping to Australia 65 Euro

Converted to Aussie dollars and shipping came to a total of $514.11.

    Shipping took about 2 weeks.

I was quoted $622 for fronts only from an Australian retailer.

I would recommend these over any other brand and they fit perfectly.

The hardest part with fitting the fronts is removing the front wiper motor and support panel.

The rears require you to unbolt the plastic tray around the spare wheel.

The fronts took about 4 hours total doing it by myself, the rears about 3 hours.

There is a step by step guide to the fronts on Toyota Nation here :

    Thanks

  3. Hey laqker06,

    Go Genuine.

I bought this one from the UK on Ebay too and it wont fit over the black plastic holder.

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Draper-22490-Toyota-Oil-Filter-Replacement-Tool-/171037107843?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item27d29b2683&_uhb=1

Seller refunded me the money which was cool.

Genuine cost me about $33 (trade price) from Toyota.

    Fits perfect.

It has a 1/4 inch drive so you need a 1/4 inch ratchet handle or adapter.

    Cheers

  4. Hi all,

I was looking to upgrade the headunit in my 2005 Corolla with a 2013 Corolla headunit (not the reverse camera one).

I was wondering if anyone had done this before, or weather it is possible.ie. will the headunit fit size wise and will I need to modify the wiring. If the 2013 unit is to difficult to fit, which year model headunit will fit straight into the 2005

I have looked at headunits in car audio shops and I don't like any of them, plus I prefer the genuine look.

    Any help would be great,

    Cheers

    Scott

Yep Ive done it and it fits like a glove.

Plug and play except for the Antenna wire.

You need to get an adapter for the old Style ZZE antenna to match the new style connector.

The antenna also needs 12Volts running to it so you have to join the adapter to the old wiring harness with scothlocks or solder.

Get the adapter on Ebay :

    Cheers !
