Hi, I need to know if anyone has a similar problem to what I am currently facing, I have a 2006 (current shape) RAV 4 CV, 4 cyl manual, which has done approx 43,000kms. Towards the end of 2008, it started to develop a whining noise from the driveline which makes it's presence known anywhere from 60-90kmh.....my first trip to the dealership, Toyota replaced the transfer case, noise was still there, second time, they replaced some gears/bearings in the gearbox, still the noise was there, the last time they had a go at it, they did repairs to the diff by replacing bearings/shims etc, once again, the noise is still there, the car is well out of warranty now (expired in Aug 09), the last thing I heard from the Dealership was that Toyota want to transport the vehicle to Sydney (I live on the NSW Mid North Coast, approx 4 hrs from Sydney) to have it worked on by a dealership in Sydney, we know also have Toyota Customer Relations looking into this as well. All the problems similiar to this I have read on various forums seem to only relate to V6 model RAV's, not 4 cyl versions? Anyone ever heard of or had a similar issue??
