    Recall 2011

http://content.usatoday.com/communities/driveon/post/2010/10/toyota-recall-lexus-avalon-highlander/1 The models recalled in the U.S.: 2005-06 Avalon 2004-06 Highlander (non-hybrid) 2004-06 Lexus RX330 2006 Lexus GS300 2006 IS250 2006 IS350 The Japanese models with the brake problem are the Crown, Crown Majesta, Harrier, Mark X, Alphard, Kluger, Lexus GS350, Lexus IS250, and Lexus IS350 built from from May 2002 to November 2005. The Lexus GS350 and the Crown also have the fuel pump problem.
  2. Yay - g'luck! Mine is good, except for the parking sensors going off at 100km/h. Will have to get onto the dealer about that.
  3. Congrats!!! (great comment from the better half too!) So c'mon, what's the stats (colour, options etc)? How is the drive? Were you driving the old Kluger previously or is this a complete departure from what you usually drive? I'm going to be coming from a Mazda 3 (just a bit of a change!!). Graphite KX-S with towbar and front+rear sensors, mats, cargo mat, headlight and bonnet protectors (not that exciting eh?) Drive so far has been from the dealer to home. It's smooth and quiet. Previous car? NB8C Mazda MX5. BIG change. :)
  4. Got my KX-S today! Woo! :) Just showed the cheese and kisses around it. Her comment. "It's big!"
  5. G'luck Phil. Mine was supposed to be there yesterday. Pick up Monday. I'll be calling the stock controller this morning as the tracking system shows it as not being delivered to the dealer yet. :( looks like it will be sometime early next week for me too - subject to the availability of the nudge bar and side steps. Should have by my wife's birthday next year at this rate... Tow bar and parking sensors go on today. :D No car for me this weekend :-( Looking like Wednesday Just had a call, Tuesday now for me :(

  7. I wouldn't expect that of any new car. Take it back under warranty.
  8. Toyota press release http://news.toyota.com.au/kluger-moves-to-the-next-level
  9. I saw those too. I will bet that a pair of iPads is cheaper than what Toyota charge for a pair of those. :)
  10. Yay! Just got a call from the dealer. Car is being shipped to them overnight, and will be ready Monday! :)
  11. I'm with Happs. No press release on the Toyota website No mention by the Toyota AU Twitter account No mention by the Toyota AU Facebook account No print news articles/reviews yet. The Kluger section of the Toyota AU website updated in a very piecemeal fashion. Looks like a pretty soft launch. I guess there must be a lot of old stock around or marketing doesn't see it is a model worth making a fuss about. Could be that the motorshow is the official launch, in which case the showrooms getting stock this week makes a lot of sense. Nothing worse than crowing about a vehicle than no one can get hold of.

  13. Except it's been in this status since I could see it in the tracking system from the 7th, and the initial date was the 20th. The dealership told me it'd take three days to prep (towbar etc) once they got it and I could have it Monday. If it's still with Patricks (or whoever does it nowdays) then it'd better get to the dealer no later than tomorrow morning otherwise I'm going to be an unhappy camper. What annoys me more is that I ordered back at the start of July which I would have thought would be early enough to get one of the first vehicles, yet I see your dealership has already got vehicles. I know it's only a few days, but have I mentioned I'm impatient? :)
  14. Just checked the tracking system this morning. My Kluger is still showing as "Being prepared for transport" and now the latest estimated pickup date has shifted from the 20th to the 23rd. Not happy!
  15. Given my import research, I'd be going with that. Sounds quite reasonable.
