  1. Many thanks for the kind advice and offer. Have found three others in Caravan Parks over the past three days, all using the same GME unit you mention. So I have had a look at the various ways they install them, one on the side like yours, others hidding under the dash, but all with the mic in the same spot. Just need to find a good deal and installer when we get across to the east coast as its a bit limited in Broome at the moment. Thanks again.
  2. WOuld appreciate comments from anyone on which is the best UHF radio to install in the LC200. I really dont want to have to make too many holes in the dash and have heard that spare space in the vehicle is difficult to find. Am considering a GME model with remote mic which I am told has a very small control unit. Would appreciate any feedback from others that might have solved the issue. As a caravan traveller around Australia, UHF radios are a bonus to talk to truckers and other vanners about road conditions and to ensure you are not holding them up.
  3. Likewise, I find that ours shifts around 100 to 105k's so long as the road is flat. Nice sitting on 100 at around 1500rpm's. Fuel consumption is normally around 11.5 but have had 10.8 but again thats on hwy driving and whilst speed of around 100-110 its not with a heavy foot as I want the vehicle to last many years without lots of payment to fuel companies or tyre manufacturers.
  4. I had similar problems with my 2008 model, in fact the 3000k check they put me on showed little movement but then it really jumped down by about 7000ks so much I even carried spare oil with me. The local dealer ordered and installed some revised pump I think, without any pushing, and I have had no issues since. Just done 9000k's, a lot of it towing a caravan and the oil has hardly moved. It was a known problem I had heard from others but thought it was fixed on later versions. But I love the vehicle.
