Stone/Grey genuine Aurion car mats in mine. I'm stumped as to why genuine floor mats for the ATX don't fit the Prodigy or Presara models, or vice versa. Sounds suspiciously like BS to me.

Never had this problem initially but recently started becoming really bad especially certain songs. The rattle was properly irritating. Since i'm an engineer, naturally i couldn't stop till i found a solution and i found one for me. No guarantee of it working for others but for me, it got rid of the rattle 100%.

How i stopped the rattle?

Asked my younger sister for a reasonably sized (about 20-30cm) stuffed toy she didn't really want and wedged it in between the back glass and parcel shelf.

Now all i hear is pure bass and 0 rattle.

LOL. Imagine that. full on bass, awesome tunes in a fully race modded Aurion, with a hello kitty or pokemon stuffed toy lookin out back towards rear traffic. LOL. Too funny! At least you'd stand out in a crowd (maybe not in a good way tho').

Just one thing to consider; blu tac don't like heat. Hot car + Blu Tac = blu dribbly mess that's gonna suck when you see it.....

Prolly fine in winter, but come summer it may be a whole different story.

I've also just noticed this issue too in my 2010 Presara (Delivered Oct 2010). Seems to creak when I accelerate, and is most obvious from standstill (eg at a set of traffic lights) and when I brake, whether it be slowing down for a turn, or coming to a halt.

I've only noticed it only on warm days though. When it's cool, or at night, I don't recall noticing any creaking.

Will get the service tech @ Toyota to take a look at it and fix it at the next service which is still a fair way off unfortunately.

In any event, it should be covered under warranty, together with the odd soft clunking I'm hearing from the front end (steering rack?) when I go over brick paving, or over cracks on the road.

I guess it's to be expected, considering its age. Soon it will be time to retire and replace the Aurion. It's been a very comfortable and reliable car to date!

Man I just test driven the Aurion and I could of sworn it felt faster than my IS350 Lexus

They're so fast and smooth the Aurions, so many cars have similar power output but the Aurion just pulls very strongly and sounds freakingly smooth and refined, never gasps.. Unruffled refinement the Aurion 2GR-FE motor is!

And the thing is I see so many Aurions on the road and they're all driving so slow, can't help think they're wasting so much potential!

Guess you haven't seen me drive my Aurion ;)

i'm hoping some one can help out here.

i have a 2007 presara for some reason smart entry on the front passenger side will not automatically unlock or lock (pressing the botton on the handle).

it work fine on the driver side.

anyone care to shed some light.

What happens when you press the black button to lock the vehicle? Do you get a very long extended, single beep?

Have you checked that the key fob battery is OK?

Have you tried unlocking and unlocking with the spare key fob which you should have with the Presara? The vehicle comes standard with two key fobs. If you can lock/unlock with the spare key fob, then the key fob you've been using has an issue (most likely low battery).

Sounds like something climate control would do when the car hasn't quite warmed up enough to heat the cabin. Once its warmed up enough, it all comes good again.

Give me a hand or electronically operated park brake any day!!! My other ride automatically engages the park brake when I shift to P and automatically disengages the park brake when I start taking off in D. Even has auto/hill hold assist.

I'm sooooo over foot operated park brakes. Especially when they're designed poorly. My Presara creeps backwards if I'm parked on an incline so I really have to literally STOMP on the park brake to its maximum extent before it would "just" hold enough not to roll back.

Sounds like a pretty common gripe, if ya ask me.

I guess it's true... scratches/minor dents/chipped paint aren't as obvious on a white car. Not that I'm saying that any of that is on the TRD Aurion for sale in Car Sales that is....

In general though, am I right in saying that white hides imperfections better?

It looks like it is part of the 'Idle Up' switch system, it probably works on air intake temperature for cold starts. Best thing is take it to Toyota and see if a mechanic can look at it without booking it in. They may and probably will tell you to book it in and even if they look for free they will tell you it needs replacing, not sure if it's vital though. If that fails find an independant mechanic who is familiar with Toyotas and see if it needs replacing.

Or..... It's your Flux Capacitor. You're not gonna be able to travel back in time until you get this fixed. In the meantime you're speed limited to below 88mph. :P

I've figured that running off approximately 14.4v at 6000wrms I'll need approximately 580-600 amps....

I'd personally like to see what 6000W RMS at full power inside a car with you sitting inside it is going to do. I somewhat don't think your power requirements are going to sit on those levels constantly. Just a thought so you plan your needs a little more accurately.

Not yet, but i do notice some dampness around the edges when I go through a touchless car wash which use high pressure water jets.

Never really been a fan of sun/moonroofs. They will ALL leak...... eventually.

Like Kombi17 said, keep the selector to the middle. The auto-tilt function will then be disabled.

Hey DeafDave76, everytime I went up to Lancelin I always stopped over at LJ's Fish & Chips and have their fisherman's basket. Very generous portions and nicely fried not drowned in oil like a lot of places. Biggest damn battered scallops, oysters and mussels I ever sawed! This was a few years ago though. Not even sure if they're still in business anymore.

From memory, you should be right re: Kangaroos. At one stage I was going up and down that way once a week and I never saw any roos/emus. Plenty of foxes though.

Was the dash rattle issue corrected by Toyota on the MY10 update model? Or do the MY10 update models still get dash rattle?

I've got a MY10 (Sept build) Presara. Nil rattles anywhere... only thing I've noticed is the door seals get a bit dry and makes squeaky noises first thing in the morning when it's really cold. Once the sun warms them up its all ok. No rattles, or other squeaks and noises to note either.

Yup, it's normal. Mine does that every so often too! It's only a problem if it doesn't turn off, or turns on again while the engine is running.

I am still looking for a place in Sydney to fix this issue. It looks like I have to fix it properly this time.

In the last 2 years I did 3 wheel alignments. And I still have to replace front tires every year (I need to check my records but I doubt I can make 30k out of Michelin Primacy LC)

I'm wondering if this whole pull left issue can be put down to a misunderstanding of what sort of alignments should be done.

I had the pull left issue for a while, and had the alignment done every 10,000km since new, each time with noticeable improvement but not a total elimination of the issue. I did a bit of research and found that I've actually been getting the wrong kind of wheel alignment done. What I SHOULD have done (and insisted on regardless of what the tech or sales ppl said) is to carry out a FOUR wheel alignment each and everytime I send the car in for an alignment instead of the standard front wheel alignment these tyre places always try to sell you.

The one time I did a four wheel alignment (and I insisted on getting a copy of the report), the pull left issue completely resolved itself. My Aurion now tracks straight as an arrow. It doesn't pull left at all now. Heck, I don't even need to apply any pressure on either side of the steering wheel at ALL on the road to keep it tracking straight.

I'm just sayin, that it could well be that people haven't been doing the right alignments on their cars. You can have perfect front wheel alignment, but if your rear alignment is off, even just slightly, the car will tend to pull to one side.

I figured these tyre places only do front wheel alignments because it's quicker and they can turnover customers faster (hence more profit through volume). Four wheel alignments are a ***** to do because of the extra effort. Cost wise it's not even double the cost of a front wheel alignment, so overall they actually make less money doing four wheel alignments. In my mind, this explains why they tend to shy away from four wheel alignments and always try to tell you that the fronts are always the culprits and the rears shouldn't be the problem.

I think it might be a case of people assuming the rear wheels are always perfectly aligned. This isn't necessarily the case, and the alignment does go out (eg, you drive over the curb while turning a bit too sharply into a corner or parking space, etc).

Just my 35c worth.

I was doing four wheel alignment every time.

3 times, different places, same result. That's what makes me believe it's not enough.

Dude, that really sucks. It's possible that I may have been lucky because mine was fixed up without needing to install extra parts. Even now, bout 2 months later after it was fixed, she still tracks straight.

Not sure when yours was built, but mine is a MY10 (Sept build).

Sorry, I HAVE to put my 2 bits worth here. If anyone is contemplating throwing money at modding their side mirrors for Auto Tilt in the belief that it will help accurate wheel placement next to the kerb, you are badly mistaken.

Case in point is my Presara. Sure it's got mirrors that tilt downwards when I put it in reverse, and sure it has a reversing camera and sensors. When the mirrors are tilted down, I still can't see my wheels because the body is too wide. Even if I crane my neck, I still can't see my wheels. Needless to say, there is some kerb rash now on the wheels (luckily they're the standard factory alloys, not nice, expensive after market rims).

Reversing camera? That works pretty well for backing up to something, but your view is pretty restricted in that you can't really see the left and right edges of your rear bumper, and when you combine this with the fish eye lens used in the camera, it's NOT a good way to judge kerbs.

The ONE thing which I think that would potentially be useful is a auto folding function. It minimises the chance of people clipping your mirrors when they walk between your car and the car next to you. Don't ask me why, but some people are pretty retarded when they walk, or they're too freakin fat that they can't fit in a 2 metre gap between cars!

IMHO, spending money on auto tilting/auto folding mirrors is money wasted if you want to see where the kerb is positioned relative to your wheels. You're better off investing in a 4 CCTV set up, with a camera looking directly over each wheel.

A bit off topic though, just wondering what's the drive away price you guys paid for the Presara ? Can it be under $50K ?

$45,375 drive away on novated lease after a lot of intense negotiation and getting dealers to price match or do better against each other. Includes footwell illumination, Aurion floor mats, moulded boot protector, paint protection, window tinting and electronic rustproofing. Even managed to get the dealer to throw in a big golfing Toyota umbrella and a first aid kit.

You gotta negotiate, and negotiate HARD and RUTHLESS.

Sounds like you need to do a hookup to your alarm system like a guy at my work. Well, maybe not so extreme because what he did was a mod to the alarm system on his Ford F150 4x4 truck. Instead of giving warning beeps when someone gets too close to the car, he's somehow bypassed the alarm siren and connected to his secondary horn.

So now if someone bumps against his car, or leans against it, they first get a normal car alarm warning. If it happens a second time, then they get a ear exploding 1 second sustained blast from his train horn.

To give you an idea of how loud this thing is, it's loud enough to set off car alarms in cars that are in the parallel street behind and in front of our car park.

I'm in WA, so where i had mine done probably won't be much use to you, I'm afraid. I would suggest a reputable shop, not necessarily franchises like Bob Jane, tyrepower etc. This is purely because franchises tend to be "sausage factories" i.e. get as many customers in and out as quickly as possible so profit is maximised by sheer turnover. There may be exceptions to this, and I apologise beforehand if I offend anyone who happens to work in these establishments or owns a franchise, but it is my experience to date with these places.

I now go to either a) Toyota Service Centers, or B) performance suspension centers. I've every confidence these two are capable of doing (I haven't been proven wrong as yet) a proper four wheel alignment on my Aurion each and every single time. They are both so confident in their workmanship and abilities they are happy to provide a full, proper printed report with each alignment.

On a side note, I have the alignments done on my other cars (Toyota L/C & VW CC) at a performance suspension center now too, and I still cannot believe the difference it makes when the time and effort is taken by the technician to PROPERLY do an alignment.
