  1. I've been seeing lots of engine swaps being discussed and investigated from 7A parts to 20V stuff from Japan that never was allowed into the US before. It appears that our mere 115HP NA and 145HP SC cars aren't very competitive against some of the recent release of fast production car again. What's the current state of affairs down under with ya'll? 2. Was wondering what types of races and car clubs do ya'll have down under. Here's a sample, just in the lower portion of the State of Florida, where we never have snow. We have Equipe Rapide doing Autox's on Sat then on Sunday they sponsor Speed Events the next day. They vary the course from Sat slightly but use only a few cones, straightaways and corners and no other maneuvers. Their events are mostly Miami oriented. Monthly events. Just north of us SCCA sponsors 2 day autox from Daytona to West Palm Beach. Monthly events. Over on the West Coast (1 hr west) the Gulf Coast racers have monthly Speed Events at 2 deserted subdivisions. no cones basically. Monthly + special track days. Down in the Keys (45 min south) there is a car club out of Key West that has both Speed Events and Autox's every month. Monthly events. Then there is SCCA Solo 1 Speed events at various road racing tracks thruout the SE Divisional at the great tracks thru the Fl, Ga, Al and a few hillclimbs up north of Florida. So that's the action here 365/12 if you have the tires you race. Actually for me I usually pick the speed events mostly, autoX's are rough on the tires at most of the locations. Down here in South Florida, it's not when the race is, the question is much racing can you afford. BTW we do get your version of our Nascar racing at the Australian road courses on SpeedVision. Great Stuff!! Tim ToyZ RacZing
  3. Hey Ya'll Starting racing this 1989 SC car in 1989 straight from the Toyota Dealers showroom floor. In 21 years I've raced with local South Florida car clubs and our national SCCA. I've raced special events, time trials, speed events, road courses, ovals, autocross and hillclimbs. Here's some pictures thru the years. Yours in Racing, mr2tim
  4. Greetings from the bottom of the Florida peninsula. I've been a Toyota driver for 23 years and a Toyota Mark1 Mr2 Supercharged driver/competitor for 21 years and have owned 5 Mark1 Mr2's in the last 2 decades as well. I've talked to various Aussie owners on the Mr2.IMOC site for many years and thought dropping in on their Forum would be fun and having Mark 1 cars for 21 years I can offer 2 decades of experience both as a hobby mechanic and track competitor. Would like to talk to other aussie Mark 1 owners. Best wishes, mr2tim SupercharZed ToyZ RacZing South Florida, USA A Toyota Race Team since 1986 http://s838.photobucket.com/albums/zz309/mr2tim/?start=300
