  1. Thanks again Mick. please let me know on the engine in bris when you can.
  2. OK Guys, just help me get my head around all this. Are the 5SFE auto and manual the same block and everything? Is the 5SFE used in the DV10 Camry etc the same? Can the later coil pack 5sfe also be used and what mods are involved? How different is the 3sfe Thanks guys, sorry to be a pain but trying to put my options in perspective. GT
  3. You should just either replace with another 5SFE or upgrade to a 3SGE/3SGTE. a 3SFE doesnt have much power and isnt a direct bolt on. Where are you located? If you are in brisbane i know where you can aquire a 5S for not much. Based in Newcastle Mick, power is the least of my worries, Please email the details as I can organise freight pretty easily through work as long as the seller can get it on a skid or pallet. my direct email is squizzytaylor@optusnet.com.au
  4. Hi Guys, it happened....Numb nuts has stuffed the 5sfe in the celica. So....what are my options to get it back on the road cheap? 3sfe engines are about half the price to buy but will all/any bolt on bits still go on ie alternator, power steer, manifolds etc? Any ideas appreciated. BTW head or head gasket has gone, DH kept driving and something in the bottom end has let go as well now. Cheers GT
  5. Good stuff thanks mate, Ours has got 205/55 16s. The issue when ordering new springs is calculating the "sag" in the old springs, Ive seen cases where 1.5" lowered springs were less than 10mm different when fitted on some cars. Offset is good on these too, Im not worried about scrubbing, justt attracting the wrong attention. Thanks again Squizz
  6. Only works if you are comparing same wheel and tyre size, this thing came standard with 14 x 6 rims and now has 16 x 7 rims, by measuring from the wheel centre to the guard lip, only the tyre and wheel size of our car is relevant. Thanks though. What size rims 16 x ? and rubber on that Gonzalis? Not keen to go superlow, his first car and he can be a brainless twit, I dont want it to attract too much attention from the NSW fundraising dept. Thanks Squizz
  7. I need some help guys, have just fitted some 16" tyres to the young blokes ST184 and will need to be lowered a bit to help it fill the guards, please tell me.... How much distance from your wheel centre to the lip of your guard and what setting the springs are IE 50mm lowered 40mm lowered and the brand please. the photo below give an indication of what I need Thanks In advance
  8. Thanks Mick, the fuse holder was sort of sitting next to the battery but no brackets or anything so cable ties will suffice till I find a wrecker with one. I found the screw on top of the lights but figured there had to be more. Thanks for your help mate. Geoff
  9. Hi all, just bought my son a '91 st184 for his first car, drives like new, goes well and generally very happy. The fuse box in the engine bay is just sitting there (would anyone please have a photo of the original position and mounting bracketry please?) Also, what is the trick to removing the rear tail lights? Ive found the screw at the top of the light but is that all? or is there a trick to pulling them out, any help greatly appreciated please. cheers Geoff Heres a pic
