  1. Rang up a number of toyota dealers and none really wanted to help me. Eventually someone was nice enough to help me out. The process ton transponder program the key is: 1. Inser the master key and cycle between on and off 5 times, leaving the key on in the 5th cycle. 2. Open and close the driver door 6 times, closing it at the end. 3. Switch the master key off and remove it, immediately inserting the new key. 4. Wait for 60 secs, and then open and close the door once more (The flashing security light should be off) 5. Remove key 6. Success
  2. thanks, just discovered how to program the remote just after i read this. I really need to get the transponder to work now though. Toyota are pretty protective over their workshop manuals
  3. Hi guys, recently I purchased a new key and remote for my 05 camry altise from toyota. I researched the programming steps before i purchased them but it seems that the american cars have a different programming procedure. I haven't been able to find any Australian programming instructions. Does anybody have access to the Australia workshop manual for an 05 camry or know of the procedure to program the transponder key and remote. Regards, Toby
  4. REcently in the process of installing a PAC steering wheel interface for my 04 gen 5 camry i came across a problem in which the SWI wires were receiving a 12v current when the car iginition was ON (accessory was fine however) and traced the wiring back to a relay (4 pin micro Denso) that was located up next to the driver side junction box. It wasn't actually attached to the junction box but rather held onto the chassis next to it with a white clip. The solenoid of the relay was connected to a 12 volt source with the other terminal of the solenoid being spliced into one of the SWI wires with a diode in series. when the mode button was pushed it would cause the wire to ground activating the solenoid and turning the relay on. This would in turn activate the headlights somehow (im guessing it may be connected to the integration relay somehow) . I have got around this problem by removing the 4 pin relay but i feel as if there is something more going on. What exactly is the purpose of this relay and what should the pinouts of it be? I got three photos. The first one is a close up of the wiring of the relay. The second is the location, next to the brake pedal and the third is of the diode which is attached in series to the solid black wire in the relay. Thanks Toby
  5. Well I managed to find a wiring diagram for the car but i can't seem to find anything to do with the steering controls. Im not sure if the australian model is too different but could somebody confirm what the pinouts for the circuit breaker located up next to the left of the dirver side junction box are? That way i may be able to see why the steering wheel control wire was connected to it in series with a 1.5A diode.
  6. ecently i installed a PAC steering wheel interface howeber for some unknown reason pin 8 on the wiring harness was being injected with a 12v source when the car was ON causing all sorts of problems... the main one being that the mode button would cause the circuit breaker under the dash to go off and turn my headlights on. I traced the wires back from the circuit breaker and noticed that the black one connected to a resistor in series with a wire that was spliced into the same wire as pin 8 under the dash. Now im not really sure what the idea behind this was or if that wire also has other accessories connected to it or what. I was thinking that possible the diode may be faulty allowing the 12v source to flow into the wire but I'm not really too sure. Does anybody know what this is or what its for? Also if anybody has a copy of the wiring PDF for the 02 camry I would be more than grateful. Camrystuff.com has closed down now and I can't find backups anywhere. Thanks Toby
  7. I have an australian 04 camry altise limited and have just today tried to connect up a PAC SWI-PS but am not having much luck. I have connected it exactly as shown in the diagram and it works fine when the car is on accessory however as soon as its turned on it no longer works. The only button that seems to register is the seek up and the rest don't work. Even more peculiar is that the mode button turns my headlights on.... ??. I have wired is exactly as shown and have not ****** it up. When pin 6 is grounded even without the PAC unit connected the mode button will turn my headlights on.. only if the car is on though... what is going on?
