Anyone?

Hey guys brought a pair of roof rails On ebay. So apparently they just bolt on. But i read a discussion on here that you may need silicon or something so it doesnt drip through? Is this true? if so i should fit them and the silicon them up? Is there anyone that has fit non genuine roof rails and found a problem? Thanks guys
