  1. It's been all done before. Not on one car though, but I've seen one with projectors for high beams and one with rings around the projectors...

Awww guess I'm not the first. I still haven't seen one around here though :P

now hopefully u sealed it properly or... HERE COMES THE CONDENSATION!

Yeah I made sure of it! That condensation problem is scary as! I even went for a carwash on the first day I finished :yahoo:

On an unrelated note, I sometimes see you around St Albans; mostly around Stradbroke Dr. To me and my brother, you're famous- the green stivo!!! ^_^

  2. It's been a while guys!

    My latest mod

I think this may be a first for ZREs (or not...I don't know but I haven't found any pics anywhere. Correct me if I'm wrong!)

    But anyway, my latest creation...

    The quad projector retrofit!

    Specs:
    Projectors
Stock Xenon D4S projectors (6000K Morimoto XenGreen D4S bulbs) powered by stock ballasts
    FX-R 3.0 Bi Xenon D2S projectors (6000K Morimoto D2S bulbs) powered by Morimoto 3Five (35W) ballasts
    Halos
Outter - 80mm White XBALEDangel eyes around Iris shroud
Inner - 100mm CCFL Morimoto rings
    Extra: Audi-style LED Strips
I purchased all the goodies from www.theretrofitsource.com (These guys are awesome). Shipping took about a week and a bit.
Altogether, the project took me about 3 weeks due to having to order in some missing components. The actual time I spent on modding my headlamps would have been 3 long afternoons. But yeah, due to my negligence, I had 3 weeks of downtime :(
This mod was pretty fun to do (well for me anyway :P). Lots of drilling and cutting and gluing and all that etc. There are a few things that I would have done differently in hindsight but ohwells, there may just be a next time for that hehe :whistling:

  3. Thanks for the input guys! And sorry for the really delayed reply and digging up an old thread!

I've been getting around 600km on my ZR now which includes city driving and short trips

My brother's Sportivo still only gets around the 550km mark though

When you guys say you get around 700km, is that 90% cruising on the freeway or is it a mixture or everything?

  4. I've read around that some people have been able to get about 700km on a full tank on their Corollas. I've only been able to get a maximum of about 550km

Forgive me if it's a stupid question but could somebody explain to me how to increase fuel efficiency :g:

    I drive a manual 2010 Corolla Levin ZR ^_^

  5. I was trying to get through into a slip lane and bumped the guy's car just as I got through. The bump left a scratch above his rear wheel.

The space was small but I thought I could get through (being in a hurry to get somewhere didn't help either). Regardless, I know it was my fault.

From what I can see, I don't think fixing this will cost half as much as my excess but I may be wrong. I'm under 25, the excess will be ridiculous (~$950)

I wanted to pay for damages out-of-pocket but he insisted on getting AAMI involved. I'm sure panelbeaters and wreckers will certainly up their price to try and make as much as they can from the insurance company.

My car seems to have it worse since on top of it being scratched, it's also slightly dented.

    What do you guys think?

Here's a photo of the damage on the guy's scratched Hyundai Getz.

  6. Haven't posted in ages since I've been overseas. I came back about a month ago and just did a few more small things. Got my hands on a pretty sweet camera but I suck at using it lolol so sorry about that :P

What do you guys think? :)

  7. r u selling ur stock unit? :D

I guess since I have no use for it, I might as well sell it hey? What's your offer? :P

was just asking didn't say i would buy it LAWL  but if i happen to want it i'll let u know ;) pictures? :)

LOL! Ahhh, fair enough. I'll post up some more pictures when I come back home :)

  8. Nice ZR Corolla, you're lucky to have that as a first car!

Thanks man! Yeah, I'm pretty damn lucky.

The new emblem and wind deflectors finally came in! Wooooo! I'm still starting small :P

Car's a little dirty :( Damn bird crap is annoying!

  9. Hey guys! It's been a while since I last posted. I contemplated between getting new wheels or some in-car entertainment. My brother convinced me to get the latter. Also, not really a huge mod but I thought those Le Mans Toyota plate frames had to go and black frames were pretty common. So instead, I got these silver ones to match the car colour hehehe

The headunit is a Kenwood DDX4038BT. I'm pretty satisfied with it so far as it's got all the usual MP3, USB input, auxiliary input and bluetooth! etc.

The sub and amp are Pioneers. JB Hi-Fi had a crazy 30% sale on all car sound products!

Anyway, here are some pics :)

  10. I'm looking at replacing the front Toyota emblem with the Japanese one.

On eBay, I've found these two. They look exactly the same from what I can see in the photo but there's a price difference of $30. The seller states that one's for the prefacelift Auris ($50) and one's for the facelift Auris ($80).

The seller doesn't state the size of the emblems but does anybody here know for sure that one's bigger than the other?

ALSO, I'm thinking about getting this. What do you guys think? :P

  11. The above link is the price you should be paying for the wheels from a Toyota Dealer (That ebay link is from a large Sydney Toyota Dealership)

Kumho KU27 - These tyres are silent and comfortable, have a long tread life, and they are very cheap!

Kumho KU31 - These tyres have more grip, but are noiser, and a bit more expensive.

If you just want a smooth and comfortable tyre, go for the KU27! (I don't think you will be able to get a better price than from the above link, but do ask around at you local tyre stores!)

Thanks for that! In comparison to other brands like say Bridgestone, Dunlop etc. what are the advantages of getting this brand? And as for installation, would a Toyota Dealer do it for me? Or are there stores that would do it for much cheaper? I live in the western suburbs btw :D

  12. Could somebody point me in the right direction for the tyres I should be looking at?

At the moment, I'm looking at these (17" Kappa)

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/GENUINE-TOYOTA-COROLLA-KAPPA-ALLOY-WHEELS-17X7-SET-4-/270730361897?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3f08c97c29#ht_1844wt_1180

According to the seller, they're best suited with 225/45R17 91H

Are there brands that I should be avoiding? Some have the description of 'best suited for racing/performance' but I'm not a hoon. LOL. I'm just looking for something that will make a smooth and comfortable drive.

I've enquired my local Toyota dealer about the price and I think they said around 1.5k+ just for the wheels. Does this sound right?

  13. Thanks for the warm welcome guys! :D

edit: :g: where did you get titted windows ? i want tits on my windows too  !!

HAHAHAH! Sorry about that. You know what I meant :P What are the meetups about and how often do they occur? Sounds like fun :)

17" Kappas should be fitted with 225/45R17

18" Wheels, (the 18" Kappas do fit the Corolla) should be fitted with 225/40R18

Any ideas on which kind of tyres I should get? Which would you recommend- the 17" or 18"?
