The box hasn't been abused too much. Apparently the worst abuse is probably from being a manual learner's car for multiple people. The clutch got replaced a couple of years ago, which is probably when they changed the oil last.

Either way, it'll be good to check the oil and get it done. Shouldn't be too expensive in the big scheme of things.

My friend's 03 levin rolla transmission is rattling really loudly after third gear. Instead of overhauling the gears (its third, fourth and fifth), he's going to try to give changing the transmission fluid a change (it's been a while). He's just asked me what type of transmission fluid he would need, and if it would be safe to mix in something called 'Nulon G70' to help it out even more..

Is there any other things he could do that might quieten down the rattle? The car has done 150,000 and he's been roughly quoted $1500 to get it all fixed by his local mechanic.

I was just wondering if anyone can shed any light on how good/bad is the Pioneer AVIC-F20BT headunit. I got a offer on it for 1900, and was wondering how it fairs with the other headunit (GPS/DVD/MP3/Ease of use). Ive been looking for reviews on it, but can't seem to find alot on it and only one youtube clip on it which was made by a pioneer person which kinda makes it a lil bias.

for the ascent models (remote fob is separate from the key) there is a genuine toyota alarm kit for around $200. installation is very simple.

ahh yeah apparantly they have stopped making genuine toyota alarm kits. Some toyota places doesn't know they exist and they have told me theres no such thing. lol I have been looking at the cyclops brand atm. is it an ok brand of alarm?

Hey guys, I am looking for a new mp3/dvd/divx player for my car. I would like it to be a double din one and also an inbuilt 6 disc stacker in it. Does anyone know of a good one? I don't mind a navigation on it aswell. But preferably I would like it to be a double din with an inbuilt 6 disc stacker and can play divx.

haha alright, maybe Ill leave the climate control unless I come across one. But the speedo would be a definite for me. I don't thrash my car or have I ever reved pass 6 anyways, I just like the look and colour to be honest hahaha Come on, have to admit...red lighting...looks really nice. I definitely would get the levin if I could find out...but haven't been so lucky on facebook and toyota wasn't very nice to me about it either lol

Gidday mate...i don't know about the best in Melbourne but R&E PanelMasters in rooks rd Nunawading do some nice work and they have been there for 20+yrs by memory.They repaired my rear bar on the Aurion and i was very happy with the finish and the way they treated me as a customer,9/10 all up...would have given em a 10/10 but they gave me a 1987 Volvo 240GL wagoon as a courtesy car.

oh how cool! Did they charge you quite fairly? lol ahh welll it is nice they offer courtesy car still which is a nice thing. Did they had to order in new parts? or did they just do sort of a touch up?

anyways, I have a couple of hit and runs on my 06 corolla(angry when it happened)..and mysterious car dents on my roof top (confused and intrigued as there are no scratches just small dents) that I kind of got sick looking at it everyday...so I wanna try and get it repaired/replaced or whatever lol But I'm not too sure where to start...as I don't know any place in Melbourne (east side preferably) that does a good job and gives a fair price....

The hit and run damages are quite..deep...and pretty damaged...so I would assume I would need to get new bumpers..

does anyone have any place suggestions for me?

Hi, my corolla is making strange noises when i'm driving especially in 1-3 gears. Its making this noise that sounds like something like buzzing. It sounded like it was coming from the right side of the car near the windscreen and the side airvent. I thought it could be the end of the windscreen just rattling from the vibration of the car . I was wondering if anyone knows what it could be? or any solutions?

Buzzing noise sure doesn't sound good. I hear a lot of buzzing noises at work and that's due to loose wires and things that are about to blow or catch fire ... can't be good in the long run anyway.

Take it back to your dealer and let them deal with it since your car is still under warranty anyway. That's their job :)

lol haha yea, i hope me changing the head unit doesn't affect the warranty. Should i call up the actual dealer or the service place?

the pins are tight fitted... try putting a little grease, use a hole puncher with hammer to push in thru the pedals.

is that what u need... cos i am trying to picture what u need...

Try to find some shorter screws as that is what i did.

I took my type R pedals off only after a week. I found that i couldnt apply full throtle to the car anymore as the screws touch when the gas is fully depressed. But they did help for heel and toeing but ive got kung fu feet now :D :D and can heel and toe with the stock pedals

lol, I can't even do heel and toe, too advanced for me....everytime i try....i accidently let go of the clutch and i get a big grind into my gear box X_X.

the screws are a ok length, just the bars that hold the sport pedals onto the normal pedals are in the way of where the screws are suppose to come through. I try to push them more into the middle but i can't cause the accelerator pedal has something thats stopping it from moving.

Hi, I just recently bought a set of sport pedals, just the cheap brand ones tho (only wanted it for looks) and I was trying to fit them on, I got the clutch and brake one on (surprisingly the brake one was abit difficult) but I can't seem to get the accelerator pedal to go on. The bars that hold the pedals on, seem to get in the way of the screws. I try to push it in but it won't go any further. Anyone can help me plz?

Deffinately doesn't stop the central locking from working as the security system isn't intergrated into the headunit itself like some other cars. I don't think it'll stop any other features. It certaintely didn't for mine. :D

haha nope, did it with some other driving school which had cheap prices..but they had a corolla too :P
