I went to Germany and it turned out like this....

Hi guys, just another vision of race cars in the opossite side of the world.
In Argentina we have TC2000 which is the most popular category in the country. Since 2012 changed to Super TC2000 due to upgraded the engines to 2.7L V8 producing now 430cv.
This is the presentation of the TTA (Toyota Team Argentina) You will hear the difference between 2011 and 2012 with the new V8 engines. Enjoy.

So what you should ask yourself is which features you like most.
If you like the sat nav, the sunroof or leather, or prefer the looks or whatever, make the list and compare. The model that gives you more in that list is the lucky winner.
I personally wouldn't buy a car to get the optionals later, because I know I won´t get them after...

Hi everyone!
It happens to be that I have a very good oportunity to buy a brand new Corolla with a 20% employee discount.
So I investigated a little and I have 2 different versions I can order: Seg AT and XEi Pack AT
Seg AT is top of the range here and XEi Pack is veeery close in accesories, but a lower price.
Both models have the same engine, same gearbox, same leather interior, electric foldin mirrors, Led dashboard.
These are the additionals that the Seg has above the XEi Pack
- Hid
- Rear view camera
- "Wood" panels on the dashboard and doors
- Electric seat
- Heated mirrors
- Rain sensor for wipers
These rims:
Price: 141.000 argentinian pesos
Xei Pack AT
Has these rims
Price: 118000 argentinian pesos.
(This is manual, I will go AT)
So the question is, are the additional features worhy for 23000$??? (that represents the 19% of the XEi price)
The only 2 things I gonna miss are the rain sensor (that I have today) and to have Hids.
Which would you choose?

Hi guys!.
I'm planning to make a quick tour for Europe and one of the things I want to do is to drive the Autobahn in Germany and if possible a couple of laps in the Nürburgring. As you know there are some parts of the Autobahn where you can drive as fast as the traffic conditions allow it. This mean, noone on the road = no speed limit!
So I've been investigating which car I would rent, but I found out that are limited up to 250km/h.
Seems to be that cars have to be limitated to 250 by law. But do you know if is there any cars without the limiter?
Which car would you go for?

What was the discussion? Oh yes! the awfull design of new cars.
Its very simple, being almost a driving instructor I can tell that you might be the perfect driver but you always have to learn about the car to drive it safely.
When I was teaching my wife I was not only interested in her learning in how to drive, but to understand the car, the dimensions, how it moves and to "see" in her mind the parts she couldn´t see with the eyes. The result: she can drive from a small car to a large car, brand new or pretty old. This is because she pays attention to the limitations (including visibility, brake power and aceleration) and the advantages of the car.
We drivers are not "plug and play" in the cars, we have to adapt.
So if you have 30 yrs or so of experience, you´ll have a huge advantage in adaptation because you´ve driven cars with no ABS, no EBD, no assisted steering and drum brakes. Those, I think, had bad designs but thankfully we have today cars like the Corolla, safer and more reliable...
If you dont like your car, dont struggle, sell it or trade it. You more than anybody know that to drive a car being afraid is a ticking bomb.
Dont suffer and live long

Replaced the original air filter with a K&N one.
A little improvement....

Ahh.... lets dream....
Well, it depends on which country I´ll be. If I continue to be stuck in Argentina, probably The Black Pearl would be parked in the Garage.
If I finally get to move to Australia, I'd like a Camry or an Aurion, but money rules. So being realistic, a 95-99 Corolla would be a nice starting point (again).
Million options out there, and one is waiting for me...

Very good one!
May I say that you have to be very carefull when you put the o-rings in the new filter, because if you misplace them, there would be a fuel preasure leak. This causes starting problems when the engine is hot and other things like power loss and knocking..
Take a look to the pictures and how they placed the o-ring in the dealership:
You can see the mark on the plastic (the o-ring was bended and not sealing)
And in the other side correctly put
So I will never take it again to get the filter changed in the dealership. I'll do it myself like you.
Congrats!, good DIY,

First one is Paso de los Caracoles between Chile and Argentina, second one is the Transfagarasan in Romania
Oh!! Great news! El paso de los Caracoles is only 1500kms from where I live! May be a little detour and a trip to Chile during deember vacations would fix it....

mmm these newer corollas just have no life :( least the older one have 4AGES screaming to 8000!
just because an engine revs to 8000 rpm doesnt mean its going to be quicker than an engine that cuts out at 6500 rpm i doubt they would actually make much power right up top plus with all the fancy **** these new engine have there better then older (some) ones imo. yea the new corolla could probably use some more torque say from using a 2l instead of the 1.8 but there still fun to drive, you make your car what you want it to be. they may not be a sporty car anymore but they are really not bad for a "family car" make it sporty if thats what you want.
not trying to start an argument its just my opinion anyway
Ermm, I agree 100% with you.

You want something like this? It's sold in Brasil....
-
Corza, what do you mean Ancient? If it is a good one, why change it?
To have more gears doesn´t mean it´s better imho. May be you´re referring to have paddle shifts or a sporty setting for fun...
Anyway...
