  1. hello everyone - being new to this forum I thought to let you all know a little about myself - I have a 1997 4.2 diesel 'Cruiser 40th edition - I've had it for just on 9 years and covered some 510,000km. It has not had any work done to the motor except regular servicing so I reckon I've been pretty lucky so far. Modifications are minimal - 50mm lift, extractors and 2.5 inch exhaust, hi-clone, spare wheel carrier, side-steps, bull bar, roof bars tp carry a full length roof rack or a couple of kayaks. We have just bought a Jayco Flamingo camper and used it for the first time over Easter - of course the fuel consumption went way higher than normal. Oh well ... The truck goes pretty well anywhere I want to go - Simpson Desert was pretty good - did Mt Dare to Birdsville in 2007 via the Rig Rd - just over 700km @ 14.5L / 100 - didn't need the extra 40L I carried. I regularly cruise along the Limestone Coast region between Mt Gambier and Robe (I live in Mt Gambier) and visit the Grampians, Pyrenees (above Ararat), the Otways, Murray Sunset country (below Mildura) and Border Track (SA/Vic). Anyway, that's enough rambling - I look forward to reading some posts relating to my particular vehicle so that I can keep it running a little longer. Can't afford a new just yet. Cheers for now.
