  1. I just replaced the clutch and timing belt in my Corolla 4WD wagon AE95. Everything's fine except the reversing light won't work! Checked the switch, the connector, the bulb, socket, etc. Peeled back the sleeving on the loom next to the switch in case I had damaged it while manhandling the gearbox in and out - no damage, everything seems okay but the reversing light still won't work!! Any suggestions?
  2. Hi Rod, I've had an AE95 for a few years, I've done a bit on it (axle bearings, front boots, head job) but now I've got to do the clutch. My workshop manual (Reg Ellery edition) doesn't answer the simplest question - which is - Should I pull out the donk upward, the transaxle downwards or pull out the pair of them together? Which is easiest? I'm an experienced home mechanic but these days I'm just working in a carport. I can hire a hoist if necessary or improvise a block and tackle if necessary. I'm really counting dollars - any advice would be greatly appreciated. Bazza
