I tried reading up about these a while ago on the internet.
There's a bit of hate on these replica seats since people who buy the real thing get mad lol. Read a pretty long thread on some STi/Evo forums.
I think one of the most important factors is safety, and whether you'd trust your life with that seat, if you did get in an accident. Especially the recliner ones...you don't know how strong they will hold up in crashes. You might save $1k on each seat, but some say you'd be better off just paying that extra $1k because it might actually mean your life.
If anything, I'd get the 1 piece non-reclining seats since they should be more sturdy than the reclining ones.
My friend's got 2 Bridge Gias replicas in his track car but with geniune takata harness and rollcage. Maybe this could ensure better safety if you decide on getting replicas.
I used to want to get them as well, but I think now I'd rather settle with some genuine Recaros. If you look around Honda forums you might be able to find some 2nd hand Type R Recaros (Recaro SP3 i think?) for around $1k which isn't that much more than replica Brides.
Recaros from DC2R = SR3
Recaros from DC5R = SR4
You can also get Recaros from evos which are SR3s as well.
These are all ADR approved.
Don't get reps.

It normally makes a slight knocking noise when there is weight shift if the hub bolt is not tightened correctly.
If you want to test the otherside, jack up the car, full lock the wheel and spin it with your hand on the cv boot. If it's stuffed you should feel looseness and clicking.

Your brother doesn't know anything mate,
Can't balance a car ! Only tyres, and unbalanced tyres won't cause that they cause vibration..
Tyres pressures and wheel alignment will however. If its over inflated centre wears, under and the edges wear. Wheel alignment issues will also cause premature wear.. Get that looked at.
P.s my old Nike shoes lasted years ! Now into dc shoes :)
to be fair you can balance a car using corner weights, but lets not go there :P

can we just say we don't buy toyotas for their power? (2JZs aside :P)
-
id say around 5am we leave sharp. so at 4.45am ish
soo early T__________T, don't you guys like sleeping or something..
-
Yes it runs a timing belt and it's to be serviced at 100,000kms as per all #AGE engines.
You will need to take each car on a case by case basis. With it being a corolla, it's generally reliable and you shouldn't have any mechanical issues.
However, as a car, it is utterly one of the most bland and under powered white good on wheels I have ever driven, I suppose for the purposes on P platers, it is perfect.

welcome mate,
if you need any installs done give me a pm.
-
lol jeff eager to test out brakes
-
The reason why i dont hit lift in those temperatures not because im afriad of blowing my car up but because i dont see the point because of the bog down i get from increased intake temp. Also i got aircon on :P
real men do aircon delete
-
lol tell me about it, when i was installing them, the pins wouldn't slot through them properly.
-
that guide is pretty on the ball.
I did kenshinx's a week ago, just make sure you have a mallet as sometimes the rotors are lipped.
if you're in melb and looking for cheap installation pm me.

Cmon man, I dont want to separate rims and tyres :P
BTW I think Ive got my old KU36 lying around somewhere you can have for free if you want, still have some meat left for the front, rears are almost bald though... but you dont need tread on track ;)
maddddddd!! def gonna come grab them off you, I'm going to be running Pirelli P Zero Dry compound on AUS day. If I can get 1.55 or under with stock suspension I would be very happy (also car being able to make it home afterwards)

if your in Melbourne, take it down to JAK motorworks, PM me and I'll hook you up, they are a supra workshop and a few of their clients have 86s
-
But you arent a noob? haha
Awesome!! Ill try and have my other motor sorted by Aus Day, if not then March labor day will be the 82's last track day... (Buy my 6ULs and semi's once im done Phil!!)
Sounds good, and definitely on the semi's, 6ULs not too sure, I already have a set of track rims :D

Did you find it kinda slow or something in the ae111?
I've always wanted a 4age in a Corolla. I just love the motor. And dropping a BT in the ae112 would be different. I dont no that's just me haha
Nah it wasn't slow in the AE111, but it's not fast either..
atm I'm driving a Honda EG VTI around daily and it pulls just slightly less than the 20VBT
It's gonna be worse in the AE112 cos it's 12xxkgs whereas AE111 is only 1050kgs, any Honda will walk past you.
Turbo'in it will probably reap more gains, 20VBT doesn't have much aftermarket support. Otherwise get an older corolla like AE82 or AE92 with a 4AGE in it already.
Justin picked one up from my mate for $500, just needed a few things to get it up and running, but good fun.
-
yeah man blacktop
selling my rims to look for an engine ;)
new years plan haha
blacktop isn't really worth it tbh, unless you stroke it to 1.7 or 1.8L either way too expensive, maybe a bolt on turbo would be better
-
yes they are Chris's
-
lmao at 2:17
they dont even wear masks when there painting! funniest s***!
but anyways...
If I also had to redo my mods it would be
1. Suspension
2. Brakes
3. Engine conversion
4. Exhaust
5. Wheels
Unfortunately there isn't a whole lot you can drop into an AE112
