Coasting in neutral in a manual car uses more fuel than if you left it in gear (at least in most EFI cars)...
hmm could you explain?
from my personal understanding is whether it's in neutral or it's in gear, so long as you are not pressing on the accelerator and you are letting it coast, it should use the same amount of fuel.
I think in nuetral is uses less fuel than not putting the pedal on the gas pedal plus the car seems to roll further than
when its not on the gas pedal for a manual car that is.
It was used by quite a few of us going backi 30 years where if driving a manual car you could drop it into neutral and coast the car. You just wouldn't do that in an automatic car. Don't know if modern cars can do it. Gear boxes seem to be a lot differnt than 30 years ago. When dropping it into neutal and then really coast the car for quite a bit. Brakes work when coasting in a manual when in neutral then when the car starts to slow up I would drop it back into 3rd or fourth depending on the speed of the car.
Would not advise placing an automatic in neutral to coast a car as the brakes do not work that well in nuetral and may stuff up the gear box
when going from nuetral to automatric.
My autromatic I don't really coast it, I just don't need to press the foot on the gas pedal as the car seems to coast along for quite a distance.
I think that is relevant on lower speeds as the revs are relatively low, however if you are going at like 60 - 70+ would you not be better keeping it in gear with accelerator off and letting the revs drop, you would pop it back into neutral just before the car is going to stall. Personally that is how I drive my manual cars

jay got coilovers from me,
AE112 are hard to get coilovers for as they aren't popular to modify (however when you look at jays you question why that is the case, looks great)
you can get AE111 BC coilovers from ebay or jesse streeter or most performance shops, they are a direct bolt on for the AE112
if you plan on doing some track work you may want to speak with the guys at MRP performance in NZ too

i've just recently done a service on my yaris. i definitely used more than 4L of oil, probably around the vicinity of 4.5L.. I'll check this tomorrow.
either way, it should be fine.
note: method of filling was fill, check, fill, check, run engine, check, fill, check, run engine, check.

My n15 is turbo.. Absolutely flys ! Not as much as a turbo sportivo obviously.. Little black front mount, adorable.. Was at 16psi, now back to 11..
Why would You want a front mount and not interested in gains ? Other way around buddy... Hidden intercooler more power..
back in the days a few honda boys mounted intercoolers as part of their intake system cos it looked good..... most ineffectivewasteofmoneyeverspent

Any car with syncros (i.e pretty much every car these days) shouldn't need any of that double clutching nonsense.
It still helps prolong the use of the gearbox, such as warming the car up before flogging it (as most new cars don't need to be "warmed up").

Offtopic, how are you finding that headunit? That was the one I was thinking of getting, but decided against it as the front USB cable dangling would be unattractive due to the mounting spot on the rolla, might interfere with the gearstick path and shiz.
Good double din for the price though
alot of headunits have a usb port on the front and an extension on the rear which you can route elsewhere, i never used my front usb port on my old headunit

you don't happen to have coilovers by any chance?

Going by this:
http://www.cuscousai...plague-the.html
My Cusco logo is right-way up, it looks polished not chromed, the blue rings on the sight-glass are name-branded (although looks like a Chinese name), the hose is white-Teflon braided (well, it's definitely white) not metal. Don't have all the brackets so can't confirm what colours the L-brackets were though, and a couple of websites have said that the "Made In Japan" etching is relatively new (if you look at the product photos on Nengun for instance, you can see that the Made In Japan logo isn't present).
Best bet is to ask fillit, he bought it second-hand off Yahoo! Japan about 6 months ago :P If I had to hazard a guess, it's a genuine one, just an old one
SO U ARE THE ONE WHO HE SOLD IT TOO??? ARGH!
relax relax... it's a genuine cusco lol, probably just an older one. you can see the bracket is a genuine AE111 bracket.
you can tell by the quality of the actual catch can, imitation ones are pretty bleh.

Doesn't the aurion fill this market (just that it's fwd)

Enthusiasts are buying the new 86 at a much faster rate than it is being built - waiting list is sooooooooooooooooooooo long.
look, I agree, however, could it be that's it's a RWD sports car at a ridiculously competitive price range? You're getting a toyota/subaru for hyundai money, that itself is very attractive!

TE37SLs, $2500, all reasonable offers accepted

I believe the discussion is about Toyota, I think the majority of people buying vehicles are for it's practicality, confines of budget, safety, fuel economy etc. How many non enthusiasts go out to buy a car for it's heart and soul, what I'm saying are people who do seek a car with heart and soul will not be excited by what Toyota currently produces.
Which is true, but don't forget you said:
it just shows how Toyota isn't building desirable cars of late.
which is clearly untrue given their roaring popularity. Had you said something like:
As an example k20 powered mr2 is absolutely insane but for argument sake 2zz isn't bad either I suppose we need to find a b18 one for comparison, it just shows how Toyota isn't building cars that are suited for drivers who have a passion for driving anymore.
I would have agreed. While I think the Gen 2 Aurion Sportivo looks good, I have no doubt it will be soulless as the rest of their current range (even if they are good at what they are designed for).
As above mentioned in relation to the topic at hand.

In relation to the topic at hand, there are plenty of individuals/companies buying Toyotas as white goods on wheels, but they aren't desirable to people who seek 'heart and soul'
Statistically they sell the most vehicles, but whether they are desirable in respect to what's being discussed in this topic is questionable.
But are you able to speak for the others purchasing other makes and models of cars and whether they are purchasing their cars because of its "heart and soul"?

What do you guys think of this new hatchback design??

umm.. I'm pretty sure all corollas since the 90s are 4 speed automatics?
ZREs are 6 speed manual or 4 speed automatic
however being in 2012/2013 it really should be 5 speed automatic by now.
