  1. Thank you, your info provided is much appreciated.
  2. Found out today they are M14. Any suggestion how to remove the muffler off the rubber mounts? Should I take the muffler off the mounts or take the mounts as well (bolted on with nuts but the second set is not very accessible). With the rubber mounts, what is the best way to unfasten the muffler from the mounts, as they seem to be quite hard to remove, the muffler mounting points basically have to be pushed through the rubber which is quite stiff. Thanks.
  3. Thank you for the quick reply. Could you confirm the size of the nut is M16?
  4. Hmm, I can't seem to attach photo?
  5. Hello: I'm attempting to remove the rear muffler assembly from a 36 series Camry, however I would like some suggestions from the forum. As far as I can tell, there are 2x bolts (M16?) holding the muffler flange onto the rest of the exhaust assembly, and the muffler itself is held via hooks on rubber mounts. I have the workshop manual for the car and it shows that regarding the flange connection, only the two bolts need to be removed. However when I inspected my particular example, I found that there was some sort of spot weld or adhesive that is on top of the bolt head, preventing a socket or wrench to apply. My question is has anyone had experience removing the muffler from a 36 series Camry and how have they removed this joining, if there was any joining at all? Is this joining a spot weld (in this case I would not be able to remove without grinding) or is it some sort of adhesive, putty or similar that I can just chip away? I have attached photo, which shows the joining on the muffler bolt. Many thanks.
  6. Thanks for the replies. I had almost given up for an answer! Yes the required loom for this function to work may not be existant in the Altise at all was one thing that did cross my mind! However I guess I might have wrongly assumed that Toyota would have made one typical loom to match across the models and match plugs, etc to enable functions/gadgets existing on some models and not others. In other words I thought the connections were available, just that it wasn't brought out. If someone could provide me, or even a working link to, an electrical diagram for a 36 series camry I would greatly appreciate it! Not only for the purpose of this but it will certainly come in handy in the future. Which brings me to another good point...can map lights and the sunglasses holder from more "blinged up" models be added to an Altise? I could bring out wires from the interior dome light to make it work but is it physically possible to place the holder? Thanks again for the responses.
  7. Hi I have recently bought a 2005 Sportivo Clsuter with the silver finish and gear selector indicators to put into a same year camry Altise. Being a direct swap I did get the important functions working. However I cannot get the gear selector to show up. There is no lights from the indicators and I have had a check to see if any of the LEDs in the position indicator map out to the pins at the back of the cluster. Could anyone here shed some light on this or have experience in doing such a swap? I have looked all over the net and also on these forums for some more info but there really isn't a lot around! Thanks for the help and I appreciate it! It would also help a lot if I hade a schematic diagram of some sorts for the electricals of a 2005 camry or at least a pin out diagram of the cluster etc which I found was also a challenge to locate! Many thanks
