  1. Every now and then when I push the AC button the air con does not start and the light blinks. I assume this is an error code. Turn it off then on again results in a stady green light and the AC operating. What would cause this behavior? :(
  2. Do these motors work OK with LPG. Ive got a 2002 Camry ACV36R

    Blocked radio

All well that ends well. Overnight the radion started up as if nothing had happened. Phew. :P

    Blocked radio

When I bought the car the radio did not have the security code activated. I activated it by using the code in users manual. Well thats what I thought anyway, now that 3 number code is not un activating it. So Ive blown it! :(

    Blocked radio

Yes I'm afraid thats the only option. The code I thought was it is incorrect. No point trying it again and again until it totally locks. I would be quite happy to have the sequence to just have it back to where it was!

    Blocked radio

Hi Ive got a late 2002 Camry, I entered the sec menu on the radio/cd to cancel the security code so I could turn off the pwer to the radio. Unfortunately for some reason the security code is not being accepted. I only have 4 more tries. How do I get out of this mess. Thanks Ian :(
  7. Anyone any experience with Sonar tyres? They seem to have a good wear rating.
  8. I complained to Toyota Australia. The vehicle was subsequently returned to the local dealer for further diagnosis. They fixed the problem! What was it, they say they adjusted the the bonnet! I note that there are new bolts on the bonnet lock. Anyway no more clonks :)
  9. I think you are right. They have replaced the bearings, both sway bar bushes and the clonk is still there. Apoarrently the Toyota dealer said that thats how some Camrys are. Well I don't think its good enough. You would think something so loud and obvious would be solveable. Looks like this is my first and LAST Toyota. :(
  10. The dealer replaced the bearings and the car clonks a little less. Its going back again on Monday. Maybe Pedders were right when they said it was steering rack and sway bar bushes!
  11. The service people tell me the front suspension support bearings have failed and they are causing the clonks I have complained about. The car has less than 80,000kms on it. Is this a problem with this model? Will it recur?
  12. I'll take the starter motor out and have a look at the contactors. Thanks all
  13. Thanks for the links. They were excellent
  14. The battery has 12.1v with the engine off after standing overnight. The battery has 14.2v with the engine running. The headlights a re bright etc. It is a daily driver. First thing in the morning it cranks a bit slowly but the motor starts. When it is hot sometimes it will crank very very slowly or not at all. Other times it is OK. I had this problem with a Subaru and eventually replaced the battery and this made no difference. I had to replace to copper contactors in the starter motor and all was well. I was just wondering with the Toyota used a similar system. Thanks for your reply BTW
  15. The starter motor is getting sluggish, the battery appears OK, could this be the contactors in the starter motor? :(
