work i have done on my car, all labor has basically been done by myself, and i get good prices on parts
Suspension, Brakes & Tires:
shocks 450
springs 200
swaybar 250
camber bolts 130
wheel alignment 130
Slotted Rotors 450 (+200 cause the fronts warped )
Braided Brake Lines 200
Ferodo DS2500 Pads 90 (fronts only)
Wheels & Tyres 1350
Engine:
Garrett Turbo & Custom Manifold 2200
K&N Panel Filter 100
3" Exhaust 200 (already on the car when i got it, just replacing mufflers)
Interior
6CD Stacker & Headunit 400 (no name brand, not overly interested in sound quality)
Autotecnica Steering Wheel & Boss Kit 200
Some random gear knob painted custom colour 20
Total: ~6300
damn wish i hadn't done that now, i didn't need to know that LOL
also gotta make up a new manifold soon, which i think should be ~200 all up. And also have located some slick tires to buy for my old 15" rims, prolly **** condition, but for $25 a tire i'm not too concerned LOL
Cheers

hmms...it is certainly possible to get 300-400kw but you are talking cubic dollars.
basically you have to decide what it is for (which you seem to know) and what car it is going into (again u seem to know) and then what you can get away with.
ie. a FWD circuit car would have some issues with 300kw, but a rwd one less so.
the main issue is for even 'just' 300kw you are going to get a very savage boost ramp and a likely small powerband. The only form of motorsport i can see that been good for is drag-racing, and probably speed-boats (tho i have no grounding on them)
anything with corners you would be likely fighting the car on exit has the boost ramps up and tries to kill you B)

~350kw with ~500nM of Torque or something crazy like that
they however use a 2L 3S-GTE as opposed to a 1.6L 4A-GTE ;)
not quite right, they are restricted to 300hp (224kw) but they have stupid large amounts of torque due to the Anti-lag system helping them make 300hp low in the rev range.
-
best would be a pod in a closed in box with a duct ramming air in from the front of the car.
tho the performance gain isn't likely to be huge, but it will sound louder

she has that X factor same as angelina jolie =P shes not hot same as angelina but theres something about her that makes it all click
i agree with that, she is sexy, same as angelina, but not exactly hot (tho still damn fine none-the-less!)

Hey s2ky_
I recently was looking into buying an MR2 SW20 and found out that....
~Bathurst models are all non-turbo. So if you find one with a turbo motor its a private job.
~GT is the turbo model. definately the one to go for. (if you have an open licence).
~Targa roofs are available on both
~hard tops are out there but are rarer. (hard tops have sleeker lines too)
~There are REV1, REV2, REV3 series. (eachs series up got more power, options, quality, last one has VVT-i I think?)
Ultimate version for me REV3 black hard top GT B)
adding to that.
all turbo's are imported, Aus didn't get delivered turbo cars. (excluding of course the ones with conversions)
In general all targa tops are Aus Delivered.
Bathurst is (supposedly) slightly lighter, has the suspension revision, no power steering, and a slightly more powerful engine.

Hey Guys,
Competed in the Huntley Hill Climb on the weekend. Was AWESOME fun, i would strongly recommend it to ANYONE who wants to have a go at club level competition.
The course is, to be honest, fairly tame in a street powered car, i was flat most of the way bar 1 corner, which i always goofed up!
My best run of the day was a 32.51 (tho my 4th may have been quicker, i haven't seen the time) I think (and hope) there is heaps more in it yet, i just need to learn how to launch it properly, and get a stronger clutch!
on my 3rd run i tried for a big launch, i probably didn't release the clutch fast enough and (clutch) smoke ****** out of the bonnet vent woops!
In my wisdom i forgot to take a camera but a couple of other of the Toymods crew were there and got some pics. Once they have uploaded them i will post some up here.
I will definately be back there again some time, and hopefully with some launching skills, and porbably a stronger clutch!
Cheers

that just doesn't look right!
why is there a dip in power at 4.5k-5k...
the whole graph looks wrong to me! the torque/hp comparison doesn't look right at all to me!

Roundy: Enzo Spano is Spanish, not Itialian. So no conflict of interest there.
indeed you are right, i didn't realise at the time, but i have since found out he is south american...where is felipe from ;)

Need another 10 ppl...
obviously everyone knows how to drive..
lol obviously!
if you want to do competitions and what not this would be a good grounding in car control
if they are baulking at the cost they obviously haven't looked at racing/track days yet
also i downloaded it twice at work, then at home lol

so george out of curiousity how many people have replied?

just wondering wat i should do to mod d celica, cam con, power fc or piggy bak also if any1 had proformance stuff for sale pm thanks. wats d best and effiective way while not goin ova the top. ps cant drive turbo!
cam con? what do you mean by that?
the first thing to do is a full service...make sure everything is in top condition...of course as the car is relatively new that shouldn't be a huge problem!
then the second thing to do on any car is breathing mods!
exhaust, and air intake is the first steps towards more power, should see a ~10% ish increase from that...and more noise (whether or not that is a positive is up to you)
also suspension and brakes...they tend to make a car a lot more 'fun' then engine mods, absolutely can-not be understated.
so i would go
whiteline suspension kit (good 'entry' level suspension) or you could get coil-overs with all the other parts of the kit as well
better brake pads (i have had great experiences with the Ferodo Racing DS2500...they are ok for the street)
good rubber
possible slotted rotors (tho not essential)
exhaust
air intake.
that should have the car a lot more 'fun' and decently quicker to drive around!
then from there well it sorta gets more expensive
Cheers

yeah that will be the key to it, getting through those first corners!
he seems to have a knack for getting the absolute maximum out of a situation, so i don't see why he can't do alright from 10th...as u said he can normally make up a row off the start...will be interesting!
-
grr that grid pisses me off! damn alonso should be 5th!
also
is why alonso is demoted...for 'blocking' massa@DHCO9 thanx for the heads up in the other thread.
and to answer your question, that is definately the lap, alonso had just come out of the pits in it. massa complained that alonso cost him time at the parabolica, if u watch he feathers the throttle on the way out.
ok yes alonso might have cost him some time, but what else could he do? he was at 10/10ths on his outlap to make it to the start finish line to get another lap. so he lets massa by and either
1. doesn't make it to start his flying lap on time
or
2. still manages to make it but gets baulked by massa on his flyer!
and the stewards... tony scott andrews (the permanent one) and Enzo Spano and Alessandro Tibiletti
not suggesting there is bias...but conspiracy theories will :D
-
now tell me, do you think alonso blocked massa?
FIA = Ferrari Impotence Assistant
p.s. just in case u don't know, alonso got penalised for blocking massa on that lap bull **** i think
-
need about 10 more applications....
come on guys you can do it!!!!
im gona give it another week or so before i renegotiate with the numbers i got now...
its gona be more expensive as there are less ppl...
a lot more expensive :o
c'mon guys! i woulda expected more then 10 to be honest!
What seems to be the preference atm for the stages? 1&3 at a guess B)
-
Hey guys,
update:
Started my preparations towards the new exhaust manifold. dropped off the stock manifold to get a head flange cut, could be ready as early as next week!
Priced up the steam-pipe (butt weld fittings if u are looking for them) in various sizes, now need to pick a size and use it!
Anyways the very next thing i will be doing to it will be a oil change, and quite possibly a slight advance on the ignition timing to see what it does (should give slightly more grunt and economy)
-
woohoo sounds good to me!
20 people sounds like it SHOULD be fairly easy to fill!
I am up for either of them (prefrebly 1&3) also is it possible to share cars with 2 drivers?? I can't seem to find the info on the site.
But actually from what i can see on the site my gf mightn't be able to anyways cause she legally can't drive my car (p-plater and my car is turbo)
-
another one for the ferodo DS2500, i haven't had them long enough to notice rotor wear, but they are awesome! no fading at the track in the ST185 and braking power is heaps better then stock pads once they have a little bit of temp into them (don't need a lot)
i think i paid ~120ish for the front set...can't remember exactly...but i will be using them on all the time now i think
-
i wouldn't worry about it (unless the std manifold has cracked or warped)
won't do much to improve spool of the CT26, as it already spools awesomely!
MIGHT give some hp increase, but no-one has really proved that yet, the std one flows rather well!
better to spend your money on either
1. full service if it hasn't been done for a while
or
2. put it towards a 3" exhaust from the turbo back
or
3. suspension mods!
Cheers

lol i did it myself, however it isn't standard now...garrett ftw!!
and yeah as long as u have a minor mechanical knowledge it isn't too bad!
The general maintenance items (oil, air filter, fuel filter) aren't too bad (thoe fuel filter is a bitch to get at)
but if u are expecting a std one to live with a WRX u might be disappointed! they aren't slow cars by any stretch of the imagination, but they aren't super fast!
-
yeah indeed, and because of how tight the engine bay is they can be very hard to track down!
fortunately i have been blessed so far (if u can call it that) only real problem i have had was the turbo dying
-
i dunno it has a few kms on it (not HEAPS but more then most of the Group A's)
i would probably say 12-14k
its good to see it has a reco turbo, cause they start to show their age at ~160k
i wouldn't be too fussed with the original rims, they are ugly imho! LOL
Traps for young people, can be very expensive to maintain, they are a major PITA to work on, so any services will cost you $$$ if u don't do it yourself.
Have u driven one yet?
