  1. hi everyone, just wanted to spred the word about the DIY topic LED door handle install,

while the DIY post (its on this site, just search DIY LED install) explains in great detail how to attach the lights it gives no real explanation on how to wire them.

i have a 2010 YRS sedan and after much testing, asking and yelling i finally figured out how to do it (insert face palm lol)

the dome light has 3 wires going to it.

i found a full yaris wiring diagram here http://www.scribd.co...ecret_password=

    a blue one=constant power

    a white and black one=earth

    and a purple one=power switching

once you have installed the lights in each door and ran the wires to the B pillar, you need to run a power wire from the battery (with a fuse installed as well) and splice the power wire for each LED to this power wire.

once this is done connect each earth wire from the LED's to the purple wire (power switching) and hey presto!!!!

    all done here's some picspost-26104-0-61866200-1335091606_thumb.jpost-26104-0-38447700-1335329324_thumb.jpost-26104-0-59733700-1335329409_thumb.jpost-26104-0-27469900-1335329464_thumb.j

  2. Hi,

How easy to fit in ? Is it dificult to fit ?

hi, i just bought and fitted a reverse camera to my yaris sedan, cost me roughly $90 from eBay, camera has small night vision capabilities, and the screen fits on the rear view mirror. witch expands the field of view. check it out......... http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/130567544652?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649#ht_8907wt_1185

    hope this helps

also found sets of 4 sensors in 4 different colors for about $30.

hi, its very easy to fit took me an hour, i do have some wiring experience though.

it comes with instructions an the ebay seller is really good at answering any questions. i could also explain it easy enough if needed.

  3. my 2010 ink YRs sedan, only fitted a reverse camera so far, subs, dubs and chrome highlights to come (grille, door handles and fog lights)

also going to tint the tail lights and not to mention lowering!!!!

  4. I used Tint professor in Nunawading (HQ) for my previous Mazda 2, I think I paid $265 in 2007 and now the price has gone up to $295.

You can't go wrong with Tint Professor.

Also looking for a window tinting service for my Corolla (darkest legal tint). Can anyone suggest any places in Melbourne?

Tint Professor Full car window tint darkest legal 35% $260 last time i did mine. Lifetime warranty B)

Yeah I think they've gone up to $295 too - it states "from" $295 for hatches lol.

So I decided to go with Tint-a-Car's "Octane" tints - got quoted $295.

Quotes from the Tint Professor were a bit nutto - $295 for Premium One; $350 for Rockstar; $390 for Premium Elite!

hi, here's my 10c. the tint professor went through change of ownership in July of 2010, hence the price rise. i for one know this was a good move as we now get pay slips and uniforms! "Rick the tint professor" was and ***** hole who didn't look after his employees. one thing we have over tint a car is our warranty-life time!

don't get me wrong, go with what ever company you like but please, please be aware that all Toyota's have a sufficient amount of die in the glass, that once 35% tint is applied it renders the windows illegal!!! if the company you or any one else on here decides to use does not test their glass prior to tinting and offer a lighter shade e.g 40% your car will have illegal tint and there for be un road worthy and could void your insurance!!!!

    please spread the word!!!!!!!!!!

  5. it is supposed to be checked at rego but Ive never been tested or know anyone who has, I know of people who have been knocked back for blue slip though. Depends how fussy and a **** the inspection station wants to be. Not sure how they test it if your pulled over, Think it just visual, you would probably have more noticeable mods anyway they would pick on first. They would defect you and you have to get the defect passed, but if you know the person who does your pickslips they might just pass it anyway

hi, they use "light meters" to test the VLT (visual light transmittance) if your car has 35% film on it, it lets in 35% of the light, 5%, 5% of the light etc. if your car like 90% of the cars today has a die in the glass that's added during manufacturing, 35% film applied to your car will be on average 27-32%, most company's like the one i work for now provide a 40% film, when once applied to said vehicles makes the VLT 35%. so whatever company you decide to go with please make sure they are aware of this.

brands that are affected are all Toyota's, honda's, VW's, mitsubishi's, audi's, BMW's, merc's, pug's, citro's, some holdens, all fords and subaru's t, the list goes on, hope this helps.

  6. scrackin everyone?

i am new to the whole forum thing, currently drive an ink 2010 YRs sedan, owned a silver YR 3 door hatch just before the sedan. the YR was a racer the YRs is gonna be a cruzier (with a second child on the way the missus wants stlye lol)

got a huge lists of mods in mind. i am a window tinter by trade so i do almost everything myself.
