  1. I have had a problem under hard accelleration of the smell of exhaust gas in the cabinfor 18 months. A/C is set to recirculate, I had the dealer look, and he could not find a leak. He said it was possibly the gas comming in through the recirculating vents behind the rear bumper when accellerating creates a vacuum behid the car. I am about to try placing a temporary extension to the tail pipe and testing that theory after taking the car to exhaust shop and not finding a leak. Has anybody else had this problem?
  2. I had 2001 3.0TD Auto and at similar kilometres I had a cotostophic failure where the exhaust chamber blew through to the top of No. 4 cylinder head. It start with the temperature guage going very high then after a few minutes returning to normal. I pulled over and had it towed to the nearest dealer where they replaced the head. They were fantastic, Because the car was out to warranty they still footed the bill for a new head and the labour costs to change it. I paid for oil, timing belt and consumables. Thanks Toyota :)
