  1. bADbOYz - what are you smoking? Some of those comments are killing me

Tis the age of Insanity my friend! Let go of your concious self and be a crazied weird schizophrenic looney like me!

Light hearted / obscure / minimalism ftw!

    I HAVE LIFT! C-CAWWWWWWW!!!

    ----------------------------

Blk good luck with it. Any updates as of yet? Interested to see how this pans out.

your funny, but lay of the crack!

  2. he just bought it, and its got 30k. k's on it!

BLKVVTIL - how did you get them to rebuild?

This only happens at high revs, not during normal downshifting

also: omn1potent, you ever used a non stock clutch?

mate i may be wrong, 30k is pretty fresh i'd be having the pedal ajustment done asap. My 3rd to 2nd gear down change even @ moderate revs 3 - 5k rpm for example would crunch. This was after a few months complaining about the 1st to 2nd gear change, it was ***** poor. They tried the old clutch pedal ajustment which I must say improves the gearchange noticably but it was to late, the damage had been done to the syncros. With the new rebuild an exedy hd clutch and fidanza flywheel the gear change feels pretty good.

  3. does this have to do with that clutch adjustment issue? Merthinks its time for an exedy sport organic

Me thinks you should get it adjusted and don't spend your money on things that you don't need (also learn how to use the clutch :D :P ) No issues with my stivo.

I had people tell me stuff like this, you should have seen the brass syncro's that came out of my box, fuked!

  4. so you got done for undue noise and now want to make the car louder?

    You bet he does!

    You go girlfriend! *dances*

haha, yeah mate, that was bad luck......so we have a little bit of intake noize.... it's not so loud compared to something running boost with a 3" system.

I know a member on here was pulled over by the cops in a similar situation to yours. "You aren't driving this home tonight mate." the cop said.

They then proceeded to test his exhaust noise level and became puzzled at how the 'loud' noise they heard was not apparent this time around.

"Rev it harder." Cop says. "That's as far as it goes it's nearly on redline!" said Member as he revved it to 5,500rpm.

Cop couldn't pin member with anything. Let member go.

    All I can say is...

    HAW HAW HAW...silly police man.

    /end

They asked me to pop the hood and give it a hit which I did, wasn't noisey, buggers still wrote out the fine.

  5. Hey everyone, just took my mates new sporitvo for a bit a wrap last night, and i found that going 3rd down to second (heel-toe downgear) i get the most awful crunch when i try to slip it in gear. This is with clutch on the floor, revmatch go for 2nd and crunch back to neutral, then into 2nd no problem (on the 2nd go)

does this have to do with that clutch adjustment issue? Merthinks its time for an exedy sport organic

    2nd gear syncro - GONE

It may have been damaged over time from from the crappy gearshifting we get from factory, to late for the clutch ajustment but it may have prevented the problem if it was done earlier.

I just had the same problem, had my box rebuilt by toyota is it still under warranty?.

  6. I would take it to an EPA registered tester. It will cost you about $35 from memory.

they have equipment to take noise readings. If you think its under the 92db, then send them the EPA test and they will have to detract it. then keep the test with you at all times in case you are pulled over.

If however you are over, then you are kinda screwed. My old STi was about 110db and was constantly getting an EPA notice,

I had a stock exhaust made up to connect to my larger exhaust. then take it to a garage 2 minutes up the road from the EPA tester.

I wuold take it to the grage, swap exhausts, pass the test with flying colours, swap it back to my loud exhaust, then drive away

    Thanks Gipper, very helpful.

  7. I'd fight that. It's stock from the factory wtf are you supposed to do? Stupid police. Just don't understand VVTLi or V-tec.

"You are a pirate! THE HIGH CAM PIRATE! YAARRR!"

the CAI does make it loud!! :)

technically the CAI could be said to be part of exhaust system ...?? if you do fight it probz best to remove CAI

Yeah I agree lets see how this pans out.

  8. I got 18's, 225's on a sportivo, scrubbed a little much unitll I had the rear guards rolled now it's fine unless I have a full load. King Springs.

  9. i paid 380, i don't know which part no is on box cause it was sent straight from the supplier to the mechanic, i don't think a button clutch is suitable for the car so i'm gonna see if i can get it swapped back.

how much did you pay for it?

The TYK-7334HD kit is mean to come with the full face organic TYD035U disc. The TYD035U is used in heaps of toyota FWD clutch kits.

The TYK-7334HDCB comes with the ceramic 5 puck sprung plate.

Retail price for the TKY-7334HD kit is about $260-280 from good clutch shops or $480 from autobarn etc. It's about $180 at trade price.

What part number's stamped on the side of the box?
