  1. I've seen a done up wagon in perth! it's a turquoise coloured one with full sportivo bodykit including the sports grille. The rear skirt was a bit different (had some grille mesh in the middle, but dunno if it was fake mesh) and it was being driven by an old woman. I was chasing her down the freeway, and she had her foot on the gas the whole way!

  2. another fellow perthian enjoying the heavy perth winds atm, but i gotta say the rain is fun :P

dude, to be honest, im fed up with the rain. the first sign of drizzle and ppl on the freeway slow down to 80km. not to mention the whole "easily lost traction". if someone tries to drag me in the rain i dont even think about it cos i know i wont win, even if the car's a little barina

as the old song goes, rain rain go away! come again another day (when im sick of the dry weather) (which is HIGHLY unlikely) :P

mintos - if it rains tomorrow i promise ill try get some rpm readings for ya ;) but from memory my car handles just like u described urs does, so i know exactly what ur talkin about.

  3. mintos, ive gotta stock 1zz and i also lose traction in the rain very easily. when i first got the car it had toyo tires (which i think were 175 wide) and i had to take corners so slowly because id just get wheelspin out of the corner.

anyway, i replaced my tires with kelly ritmo's 195 wide and the handling was much better, but wheelspin was still there. i can go around corners a faster, but it also depends on how u drive. i find u have to have a very steady foot and watch the revs carefully (or listen to the engine).

i still cant launch fast in the wet. i always find every other car taking off faster than me... :(

one thing i always wondered is whether lowering it would help???

  4. hey all,

i was surfing the net and came across an advert...

    http://www.mitsubishicars.com/06eclipse/

check out the specs of the GT version!

    http://www.mitsubishicars.com/MMSA/jsp/ecl...tures_specs.jsp

263HP, 260lb-ft...whats that in aussie terms??? wheres my calculator

ill leave all the technical talk to the rest of u guys, but let me just say ive been lookin forward to this car goin into production for a long time and im really pleased with how it looks. i reckon mitsubishi's gone in the right direction. theyve updated a model with a wicked new look, but managed to still keep the features that make the eclipse the eclipse. personally, im a big fan of the diamond nose, but i know theres a lot of ppl that hate it.

i really hope the eclipse does well in the states. seems to be more than a simple sports car now and more classy like an audi tt. the interior looks all leathery :D

  5. does ur suspension creak or something like that ?

i have a manual acent hatch also but on slopes it would creak.

on an auto it doesnt do it.

OMG my ascent does that too and it annoys the crap out of me. ive told the dealership numerous times about the suspension (i think its the rear) and they said theres nothing wrong with it.

i was starting to think it was just me hearing things...

  6. i think if u take out the rear seats u should find a few bolts contacting the metal chassis. im pretty sure thats where my ground was connected to. and my amps bolted on the rear seats, so the floppy cardboard thing in the boot sorta protects it.

  7. i have a personal hate for magna drivers haha. i absolutely hate ppl who stick to the right and arent overtaking anyone. it drives me nuts, especially when u overtake them using the left lane and they still stay in the right.

for some odd reason though everytime i follow a magna whos driving slow and go to overtake em they speed up as if they dont like ppl overtaking them and end up sticking in my blind spot, which forces ya to have to drive even faster. theyre always middle-aged business guys too...

  8. yeh i think ideally u'd want a heavy one that sits high. having it higher definitely makes it easier to shift (but lowers cooler ;)) and the extra weight means u use less force.

ive gotta round autotecnica one, which is so nice to shift with. its aluminium which means it doesnt "grind" against u so ur hand just rolls around it really smoothly. i luv it.

  9. xcess, the same thing happened to me the other day! i went around a corner too fast and all of a sudden this loud whistling came about and i crapped myself. i thought it was the tyres or suspension, but then realised my window wasnt up all the way hahaha

also, i get that "weeiiii" sound too. its at just the right frequency to annoy ur ears, but i always assumed it was because of my amp for my stereo. comes and goes i guess...

  10. I can't wait for this movie to come out! Have they announced the release date yet?

It'll be interesting to see how deep into the storyline they go, but i hope they at least show takumi get his new engine :D :D :D
